My sony trintron is stuck in stand by mode

If model number listed here (kv-27fs120) is correct the set if not coming on is in shutdown because either a problem in its power supply or something elsewhere pulling the supply voltages down and triggering shut down.

Someone would have to open and first check for voltages and or shorts--no real other easy way to troubleshoot this.

No color on sony wega trinitron when hooked up to satellite, but plays movies in color

Try reprogaming your tv. And be sure you do not use a super video cord along side a yellow rca jack or components cords in the same aux. Check it out!

Sony wega tv was on and it shut itself off and we tried to reset power and the standby light is now blinking red 6 times with no picture.

Why not try this.

If it is a tube type.

1. Turn off the TV.
2. Disconnect it from the outlet.
3. Connect the power cord after 1 minute
4. Power the TV.

Blinks

The blinking standby light should be in a repeating pattern of a fixed count of blinks. Please post that count here as that will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected. Armed with that info, we can then tell you the problem and probable solution.

Thanks,
Dan

Sony Wega KV-27FS120

This may be a power supply, and or a high voltage, or a scan ampplifier failure. The set would have to be properly trouble shooted by an experienced TV tech to determine the exact failure. This is not something you can fix yourself at home.

as no sound on certain channels it means no problem in your tv though it is old. the problem is in transmission line from where you get prog. it can be adjudted manually by vol.control if low sound is there at certain channels. you can also reset once.
