I have a Sony, Samsung and older Sylvania. One day NBC no longer has any substation signals. This is not my equipment. My antenna is in my attic and has not moved. All others are working fine in my reception area.
Ok This is what I found out and hopefully found your solution..
Have you heard of Double Rescan?
The Federal Communication Comission Designed a Process called double rescan.
Double Rescanning erases and thenreprograms the channels in the converter box an digital TVs memory.
To Double Rescan, you will first need to disconnect the antenna from the converter box or antenna.
Then disconnect the converter and or digital tv power supplies from the wall. Wait a minute before plugging them back in. The antenna should still be disconnected.
With the antenna disconnected run the channel scan function on the coverter box or digital tv. When the scan completes you will have completely removed any channel data the converter box or digital tv, had in its memory.
Now it's time to rescan for real.
Do this by reconnecting the antenna to the converter box or digital tv and running the channel scan function again.
Thus the double rescan is born.
If the double rescan doesn't work, then try some tips and tricks to get your converter box up and running..I will have to look up the url again that has the tips and tricks...
If the double rescan doesn't work let me know and I will look up more options..
I really hope this works..
Sorry meant to tell you this..It seems to be a common occurrence and not unknown of for the converter boxes or digital tvs to stop picking up different channels..Its definately not your devices. It has to do with the converter boxes themselves just a malfunction on their part. The website that I went to was about tech.com/doublerescan..I dont really know why the converter boxes and digital tvs have problems with HD channels..They just do after a while..Anyway, I hope this helps you and if you have anymore questions I'd be more than happy to help if I can..

SOURCE: Not picking up Digital signal from box but can receive it analog
So many factors could be affecting your reception.
Keep in mind that the digital signal is all or nothing, either you have a signal or you don't, with the regular signal you can pull in weak signals but you can't with digital.
Your converter box when turned on will probably not pick up the standard signal.
The distance from the digital signal and the direction the antenna is facing also will affect your signal.
Ok with that said you will have to clear the path between the broadcast signal and your antenna, I know this will be a chore but take your antanna out of the attic and put it outside as a test only, this dosnt mean you cant have it in the attic it will just be a signal test.
Once the antenna is moved, from the menu scan for channels and see what you get.
Let me know and I can help further.

That message is presented when a selected digital channel is too weak to decode. Let us hope that something was accidentally changed:
Is the channel legitimate?
Is the antenna/cable still connected (to the Digital input)?
Go into menu - setup - channel setup. Is the selection of either cable or air channels correct for your situation?
Use menu - setup - Antenna Setup-DIGITAL to examine the signal strength. Is there nothing at all, or is it just a question of strength?
Odds favor a change in channel setup that you would not have made intentionally, or a simple physical problem (input cable, etc.). Start from scratch, and check the settings and connections you originally made. Hopefully it will be simple and cheap!
