The screen should say a message similar to "VIDEO LOSS" if it does The power packs or multi power supply to your cameras are easiest to check for starters. Unplug the power to a working camera and plug it into the non working camera close to the dvr. If the camera that didn't work came on, then the power pack is most likely the problem. If it didn't have a message saying "VIDEO LOSS" then it may be the sensor that switches to day/night vision. I have had cameras that when it switches to night vision the screen goes black and unplugging in the power to the camera and re-plugging it in gives it a boost and then comes on. If switching the power from a working to non working camera don't work get the ladder out and unplug and re plug in the connectors at the camera in case it is a connection there. Last if that didn't work would be to take the camera that don't work off and plug it into the end cables to a working camera, if it works then I would suspect the cable to the camera to be bad. Just a process of elimination.

Easiest way to check if power is coming to your camera is to cover the sensor on the camera with your finger (this is usually a green dot like thing on the front of the camera), when you cover this with your finger the camera will think its dark and the LEDs on your camera will light up. You can test this theory with the working cameras first and then go to your non working cameras and do the same.

If your non-working cameras do not show any LEDs it means that the power supply connected to these non-working cameras if faulty and needs replacing.

If you have a multimeter and know how to operate the basic functions like voltage measurement then the first thing i would check is the power supply going to the cameras that are not working. Or an even simpler way could be to swap a known good camera with the suspected bad one and depending on the outcome will tell you whether it is the camera or the wiring to the camera. If a good camera works after swapping it then it is most likely the original camera is defective in some way. Likewise if the good camera still does not work after the swap then you most likely have a wiring or connection issue that must be resolved.

2 cameras that worked perfect have stopped being received on the lcd. They have power. I have 2 other cameras and they work fine. Please help

Try switching the cameras around to determine if its the camera or the cables at fault. Also, try rebooting the system. Good luck!

What is wrong with myuniden udw20055 surveillance system? It does not work anymore

Does it power up at all? Check the voltage on the transformer. If the power is good it is probably the unit and needs to be sent back for repair.

No signal lorex

please make this test with your surve cameras:

Monitoring Problems

  • Cameras can now be monitored remotely, even through the Internet. However, there are times when monitoring a Lorex camera will not work because of browser or software incompatibility. Check to see if your system's software runs fine prior to use and get software updates as necessary. Because continuous monitoring can be tiring, installation of motion sensors helps make the monitoring process more efficient.

Internet Problems

  • Internet monitoring is now a very popular feature of security systems where users can get surveillance camera footage from their homes, business establishments or even while on vacation. Poor or slow Internet service can lead to difficulty accessing data. When monitoring surveillance cameras away from your home or business, be sure you have a fast and reliable Internet connection.

Channel 3/Camera 3 not displaying properly

try swapping the cam inputs first to rule out the unit, if not the camera may be faulty or needs setting up properly with a focus adapter, or the lens could need setting up!
when CCTV company's set up these systems they have all the equipment to plug in and focus auomatically etc..
Hope this helps!
Try looking at www.digitalvideos.co.uk (test equipment) section.

Mine records and then stops after about 2 minutes

I had to modify the resolution and framerate settings to a lower level to make mine work reliably using 4 cameras. Otherwise mine would do the same thing as you have described. Once I lowered these it has worked but still locks up recording on occasion. I check it as least once a week to make sure it's still recording. When it locks up, the video remains, but the time freezes and the recording stops even though the recording light remains on.

Camera display shows "memory card error".

I would give this software a try:
http://www.download.com/VirtualLab-Data-Recovery/3000-2248_4-10610841.html?cdlPid=10801131
and be more vigilant about backing up your pictures. Flash memory can corrupt at any time. Good Luck.
