My wifi signal on this TWC box does not give me very much strength 30 feet away. Is there any way to post it without costing me a fortune.
Without knowing your floor space area, and how much concrete it is passing through, it will be hard to provide any definitive advice.
I can suggest that you use a signal detector app on your phone, there are numerous free apps available on both iTunes store and Play. Using the signal detector, you can then test and map out the signal strength at every corner of your house. Be aware that a piece of wall, even hollowed space wooden wall, cuts down the WiFi signal by a certain percentage.
For the image above, Green ellipses is my assumption of the signal path. It definitely is weaker by the master bedroom and the bedrooms. What I can do to strengthen the signal that is wasted behind the concrete wall (red arrow), is to place a piece of aluminium foil either in V or /--\ with the direction that is outwardly facing the direction where you wish to improve the signal. This solution will cost you 50cents.
Another way is to not point your router at an angle, facing the intended area. That area within the line of sight should be sufficiently covered anyway since the signal is not interfered by walls or anything. Alternatively, you can also partially wrapped the router antenna(s) to shape the signal direction.
Hope this helps.
Testimonial: "If I could use an antenna I might have better luck. But this ARRIS does not appear to have a place for one. Did you mean to point the ARRIS towards the area that needs a better signal?"
ah, then what you have is a router with MiMo kind of antennae. MiMo is built-in, so you can use the 50cents aluminium foil enclosure i propose to give you the directional purpose. check out the following image for an example,

You don't have to worry about the location of the antennae within the router, you just enclosed it, and that will provide the direction you require
My ARRIS modem does no9t have an antenna.
you have to read my comment again. you DO have an antennae. it is within the modem. you cannot see it.
so what you can do, is just place the aluminium foil like a V shape or semi circle, and get it directed to the area you want to have wifi access.

SOURCE: Home network signal - boost needed
You can get a high gain antenna or better yet get a wireless range expander to repeat the signal of your router so it can reach the entire house.
hope that helps.......
SOURCE: poor signal strength
if your in a metal shed then the best way would be to mount a outdoor type access point to boost signal or just hardwire it
SOURCE: signal strength keeps varying
if you arent in a clear line of sight, many things can affect the signal strength of your network including the thickness of the walls, the composition of them and anything else that may be in the way. if you use a 2.4 ghz router and you have a 2.4ghz cordless house phone, they can interfere and cause issues. A microwave oven that is located between the router and a device can cause interference as well.

SOURCE: Can I boost signal strength?
You will need to get hold of a Belkin Wireless G Universal Range Extender relays the signals of your
wireless network and extends its range model number F5D7132 from PC world or another online dealer.
You will still need the wireless router as the
central connection point, using the booster your network now reaches further I have one at the top of the stairs with the Router downstairs to I can browser wirelessly in the loft conversion of my old house
SOURCE: I lose the signal from my 2300 if I move past 30
Things that will affect the range on a Wireless router signal are signal strength, and a big factor to this is the antenna you use. The small antenna that comes with the router normally offers around "Up to 100m" indoors and "Up to 450m" outdoors (open range) range, router to computer, and replacing this antenna with a higher gain directional antenna pointed towards your laptop would normally be a way to improve this signal. Router login involves using web browser and going to http://192.168.2.1 and login is admin as well as the password of admin ... unless you have changed it! At any rate, if all antennas are correctly attached the router to computer distance would not be a problem. Check antenna connection, replace if all secure and still have low signal strength. Please let me know the outcome of the repair efforts? Thank you.
