Is the thread caught in gear in top of machine causing it to bind. If you refilled bobbin did the gear switch back completely or you have lost an o ring in bobbin rewind.

SOURCE: Brother XL-5130 Sewing Machine

Put the thread through one of the holes. Then put the bobbin on the spindle. Pull about 3 or 4 inches out of the hole and hold on to it. Start winding the bobbin. After about ten turns, or when the winding thread is secure, you can stop the machine and cut off this 3 or 4 inch tail. To insure that the thread winds up and down the bobbin and not off the top or bottom, there is probably a metal bobbin tension disk that the thread must pass around before it goes to the bobbin. It is probably on the left of the machine and may or may not be part of a thread guide. The thread must pass around this disk on its way to the bobbin in order to put tension on the thread so it will wind properly. If you can't find the disk, which is a small metal button or screw with some type of somewhat moveable spring cap, you can just get the thread to pass through your thumb and forefinger. Hold your hand 6 or 8 inches to the left of the bobbin and pass the thread between your thumb and forefinger so that it makes the thread go in a direct straight line to the bobbin. Pinch the thread only enough to keep it taught but not tight and let it flow through your finger to the bobbin. The thread should go up and down evenly on the bobbin. If not, move your hand up or down to position it so the thread will wind up and down smoothly. It will not be necessary to move your hand once you find the correct position needed for winding.

SOURCE: Brother Sewing Machine model:CS8150 bobbin thread problems

The top of the machine is not threaded correctly. First raise the presserfot then rethread the machine. Bottom looping is usually caused by a lack of top tension. There could allso be a bur on the hook.

SOURCE: Brother 2001 sewing and embroidery machine.

The fact that your machine is turning hard says you still have some thread inside the machine that is binding up and activating the safety device. It must turn easily before it will work properly again.
Sometimes the machine must be disassembled to remove these threads.

SOURCE: while sewing the bobbin case moves, wheel locks up, needle locks

Im not sure if this will help but thought I would pass it along. My Pfaff 6122 tells me to check bobbin for thread unrolling clockwise before you place it back in the machine. I had mine turned to un roll counter clockwise, this is wrong, the bobbin will fall out when you pull on the thread while you are holding it in your hand. You may just keep putting it in backwards. Hope this works for you. J.R.

SOURCE: can't draw up the bobbin thread

Make sure you have enough of a "tail" from teh bobbin... Probably 4 inches or so before starting. If that doesn't work, check upper tension and needle is properly seated.

The needle drags the thread down and then starts back up causing a loop at the eye which a shuttle goes through and acrries the upper thread over the bobbin. The upper thread then drags the bobbing thread up.

My baby lock lock up while sewing the needle want move up and down it is a grace it says error 6 can you help me thank you

Sewing Machine: Needle won't move
A disengaged clutch, broken drive belt or internal drive gear failure can prevent the needle from moving. Engage the hand wheel clutch if you have it disengaged for bobbin winding. If the needle won't move with the clutch engaged, unplug the sewing machine and check the drive belt.

How to Fix Brother Sewing Machine Error Code E6 Q: What does E6 error message mean? A: The motor locked up because thread is tangled Q: How to fix E6 error message? A: Do the following:
  • The upper thread could be tangled. Remove the upper thread and any loose threads. Raise the pressure foot, raise the needle to its highest position and rethread the machine.
  • Remove the bobbin and bobbin case to clean any lint or loose threads. Install the bobbin case so that the projection on it aligns with the spring. Then install the bobbin into the bobbin case.
  • The needle could be bent. Replace the needle making sure the flat side is facing the back.

Bobbing thread is not feeding through

try changing the needle
rethread the machine top and bobbin
make sure the bobbin is inserted and turned the right way in the
bobbin case
it's also possible that the machine needs to be checked to see if
the timing is all right

Bobbin tension is far to loose I tried adjusting the screw but no luck

Are you sure that it is not in your top threading instead of your bobbin? Try this test, totally rethread your machine with a fresh needle inserted (flat side facing away from you). Make sure that your presser foot is up (when threading and the first part of this test) , now pull on the top thread, it should move smoothly, then put the presser foot down, now pull the thread, it should barely move. This usually seats the thread in the discs.
You will find that bunching up of thread underneath is usually the opposite of what you thing, ie. top threading. Top thread issues are the bobbin causing the problem. Good luck

E6. Motor locked up because the thread is tangled. I have re-threaded machine and bobbin; thread still tangles after 2 or 3 stitches. HELP!

In my Brother CE-4000, it appears as though the feed dogs (which you can change to a higher position or a lower position) are allowing the bobbin case to spin all the way around and then the needle hits the bobbin case. When the feed dogs are in the lowest position, the bobbin case does not spin all the way around when the needle moves up and down (and therefore the needle does not get stuck in the bobbin case. I am wondering if this is a problem with the feed dogs/case?

Top thread won't grab bobbin thread

Bent needle, needle inserted wrong can cause problems. On that particular model of brother it uses a plastic rack, or drive assembly to move the sewing hook back and forth. They have a tendency to slip gears, causing the problem you are encountering. Take out the bobbin case and remove the shuttle cover. Put the machine into its back, set at normal center needle position and look to see, by turning the machines handwheel, if the eye of the needle is below or above the hook on the shuttle. If its above the eye....thats the problem.Very, very common on these inexpensive machines.

My Brother LS2125I gets all jammed up.

Printed out the machine manual, and used the troubleshooting section to fix the problem, which was that the top thread was not properly routed to the needle.
