Go into printers and faxes, right click on your HP PHotosmart printer, click on properties, in the general tab click on printer preferences, on the advanced tab make sure the paper type is Automatic so the printer will acknowledge any type paper put into the tray.
This may allow the printer to see your photopaper. Also try to remove the paper completely and put it back in the tray, make sure the paper is pushed all the way to the front of the tray.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.get more help and information for hp printer support hope this helps you.

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:
1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

Hi, Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry. Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print. Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job. Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..
Remove the power cord from the electrical outlet. Open the printer cover and expose the printer rollers.
Remove the paper from the "in" tray and any paper you may have in the "out" tray.
Hold the wet cloth against the first roller with one hand and use the other hand to manually turn the roller.
Replace the paper in the in tray. Plug the printer in and print a test page. The rollers should take the paper from the in tray. If not, repeat the process in Step 3 to make sure you remove all of the dirt.
