I have installed new batteries. The sound & picture are good but the cursor does not respond to the mouse. Can you assist please?

The toy is second hand but I have been assured that it worked previously. The old batteries were still in the Key board so I wonder if this could be the problem?

How do I get the mouse to mouse the mouse cursor

the battery in the mouse makes the red light come on, not the operating system.
Look in Device manager, find the mouse, uninstall the drivers, scan for new devices, re-install the drivers.
Otherwise look for new drivers on manufacturers site.

Cursor doesn't move, but the mouse is "on"

Remove the battery of the mouse and install new one and then press connect button from the mouse side and the receiver side also.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

Won't work after replacing batteries

sounds like the batteries might be in backwards. Please remove the batteries and then put them back in insuring that they go in correctly.

Mouse not responding.

I take it that you have a wireless mouse.
Myself I prefer the ones that plug into the console.

Sticking cursor

these type of problems can be caused by a wire crossing the line of sight between the mouse and the receiver check
you have no cables in the middle of them even a usb cable can cause it to respond this way

also spyware and viral activity does this to

Mouse stops responding randomly

The issue may not necessarily be with the mouse. Are you able to use the keyboard once the mouse freezes? If you not even able to use the keyboard, there is some application installed on your computer or a virus due to which the mouse freezes. If, in case, the keyboard works even though the mouse is stuck, try changing the USB port or try a different mouse. Please revert back with any other observations. Good Luck
