Whats the plug gap on 2.4 liter Volvo engin

open hood, see the sticker there on the hood (up and under)
it tells you 2 things, (at least) engine that is there. unstated
and the spark gap and my state correct plug to use.)

Most cars have different spark plug gaps but can be the same in some cases. Under the hood of your car will be a white sticker around the radiator or shock tower area that will have information about the engine size, the car year, most times spark plug gaps, and other emission related things. If you do not find the spark plug gap but do find the engine size (written as liters - ex: 2.5L), call any parts store and they can give you the plug gap for your engine/car.

FR7DP, 4228 and Spark plugs: Champion RC8PYP 8 (or equivalent)
Spark plug gap: 0.028-0.032" (0.7-0.8 mm)

The proper gap is 0.028"

for the 2.2 liter engine:

1. Gap the spark plugs to 0.045 inch (1.1mm).

for the 2.4 liter engine:

1. Ensure the spark plugs are gapped to specification: 0.042 in. (1.06mm).

for the 3.5 liter engine: Adjust spark plug gap to 0.043 inch (1.1mm).

need to know the engine size as there is a 2.4 litler, 2.4 liter turbo, a 2.5 liter turbo and a 2.3 liter turbo.

If you have the 3.5 liter engine, that is the correct gap. If you have the 2.2 liter engine the proper gap is .042. Hope this helps...

There are 3 engine choices in the 98 volvo v70. All are 5 cylinders, 1. 2.3L turbo
2. 2.4L MFI DOC
3.2.4L Turbo
#2 is the most common engine for that year and model. If your engine doesn't have a turbo, that's the one u have.
