SOURCE: Promaster Spectrum 7 Lens

I believe Promaster does not have any lenses with focus motor in the lens, so it will not autofocus with your D60. Their AF versions for Nikon will work with your camera's metering system for proper exposure, but you would have to focus manually.

SOURCE: Shutter speed and apertue not working for Nikon D60 Digital SLR

What about other modes?
Can your camera still take photographs?

You can Try the following;

Remove the batteries , as also remove the memory card. wait for about 5 minutes. Then install the only the fully charged batteries and restart the camera. Try to use the shutter or Aperture mode, hopefully, you turn it on it and should come back to life.

If not, then it best to show to the nearest Nikon service center..

SOURCE: Nikon D60 highlight

When you have the flashing highlight areas, press the down arrow on the command dial and it will scroll through various playback screen options until you get to the screen you prefer to view.

SOURCE: I am very new to using a slr digital camera. I

Yes. The expore time is long when you picture at night. Use the flash or TRIPOD! ;) The other way is to change ISO. It's better if you change is to 800, or 1600 or 3200 but be careful, there will be a lot of noise then! ;)

Nikon digital SLR LCD viewfinder

No. The D60's LCD is used for menus, shooting settings, and reviewing pictures after you take them. You have to use the viewfinder to compose your pictures. Nikon introduced the LiveView capability into their DSLRs with the D3 and the D300, introduced after the D60.

I bought an older 28mm nikon lens for my d60. when i try to rotate the apertrure ring, the d60 screen says that the aperture must be set to the highest setting. am i stuck with this aperture...

Set the aperture to its smallest opening (largest f/number) and lock it. You can control the aperture from the camera, the same way you do it on a lens without an aperture ring.

D60 Digital Camera: I put a picture on my view finder as a background ...

What you're describing is a feature called "live view" (or more accurately "live preview"). It enables the user to treat the LCD like a viewfinder to compose shots just like on any digital compact camera.

Although many newer digital SLR's now have live view, the D60 does not so you cannot achieve what you want. All that the LCD is for is to view photos already taken and to provide camera menus and information in all other modes. Composing the images before pressing the shutter is done solely via the optical viewfinder.

I just bought a ML-L3 remote to work with my Nikon D60 SLR camera. I have no idea how to get it to work.

Set the release mode to one of the remote modes. Look in your camera manual under either "Shooting Mode" or "Release Mode."

Will the Nikon SB600 speedlight work with the Nikon D60 Camera. All the instructions mention all the other Nikon camera's but not the D60. Will the auto flsh modes work with the auto modes of the camera

Yes. The SB-600 instructions don't mention the D60 because the SB-600 came out before the D60 existed. Bear in mind that the D60 does not have a commander mode so you can't use the SB-600 as a slave.

Basically, as far as the SB-600 instructions are concerned, just pretend that you have a D40.
