4 line phone with only 2 lines blinking message light line 3

hi its hard to understand... the phone is connected to line 4 or not? if so and line 4 is dedicated to fax line then the fax tone is the cause of your confusion fax tone is different from a regular tone phone if the phone isnt connected to line 4 and only to all 3 ordinary lines - then the phone is getting a over volage from them and activates the light & messege alert my advice let it be you will start playing with it something else will go worng... good day

Ok, i just figured this out a few min after posting the similar question. Reconnect your phone line to the data port and reselect the line one or line two selector swith position until the light goes out. I removed the phone from the wall to paint an must have accidently moved the switch. If the switch and the input port are out of sync you will get a red light on line one or two. Good luck!

I have an RCA Executive Line 4-line phone. I was away for a week, and came back to find the speakerphone when I dial out is significantly muffled on some of the lines (people that I am calling complain of noise on the line). If I take it off speaker, the quality on the handpiece is normal. First, I thought it was the batteries, so I replaced them. Didn't change. Is there a reset? Is the phone (base) after less than 1 year defective?
