Three weeks ago, I purchased a Black (No.4) and a Colour (No.5) Valuepack Cartridges for my Lexmark X2690 All-In-One printer from Refresh Cartridges/UK. After installing both cartridges, I printed a Test page and scanned it (as per the printer's instructions) to align the print-head. So far, so good. The problem started as when I tried to print a couple of documents, nothing happened. When I opened the print queue, I noticed that the previous document, i.e. the Test Page (which, as already mentioned, had printed correctly), was blocking the other documents in the print queue as it was still being shown with a "deleting" status but despite my waiting for some time for it to actually be deleted, the Test Page remained at the head of the queue and kept holding up the other documents awaiting to be printed! The only way I managed to clear the whole print queue was for me to reboot my laptop. In fact, up to the time of writing, every time i need to print anything, I always find a previous print-file still being "deleted" in the queue and, as already mentioned, I'll have to reboot my laptop. Can you please help? Thanks in advance. Marco GRIMA

Lexmark X5690 Use no. 4/5, after refilling, printer will not accept cartridges and won't print.

Try to reseat the cartridges into the printer.
Note that Lexmark does not recommend the use of 3rd party/refilled/remanufactured cartridges. These type of cartridges tend to degrade print quality and cartridge performance.

I have a Lexmark X6690 and bought new Lexmark print cartridges today - Black and Colour. The printer is recognising the colour cartridge but not the black one. Driving me nuts!! Please help x

Try to reseat the black cartridge. If that doesn't help, try to clean the cartridge nozzles. On the printer operator panel > press Setup button > Maintenance > Clean Cartridges > Ok. Your printer will then print a page, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean them. Try to print again. You may also try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty. If your new cartridge is faulty, return it to the purchase store (if within return period) or contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

Cartridge lexmark 15 is compatible with lexmark x2690?

No, a Lexmark # 15 is not compatible with the 2690.

The 2690 uses a #4 (Black) or #5 (Color). Also a # 4A (Black) and a #5A (Color). You can also use a #31 (Photo Print) cartridge.

Is it possible to refill ink cartridge on Lexmark x6690 printer?

Take out all cartridges, switch printer off and then on again and let printer see that there are no cartridges. Do this 5 times, it resets the cartridges. Then install refilled cartridges

Ink level reset button for Lexmark X2690

There really isn't. Lexmark's 'official answer' that I have seen is this:

Genuine Lexmark inks and cartridges are perfectly matched to the printing system to ensure that every document produced is of the highest possible print quality, providing long-term dependable service from your Lexmark printer. Using incompatible inks in an attempt to extend the life of a genuine Lexmark cartridge beyond its recommended usage can cause failures in several different areas of the printer. Any such damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges will not be covered by your Lexmark printer Warranty, Extended Warranty or Service Agreement.

If the error message stopped you from using the refilled cartridges, you shouldn't have damaged the unit in any way.
