The watch just shows the date, not the month. How do I know it is the correct month 30 days or 31 day month
SOURCE: Watch has correct day and date only 1/2 each day
The watch thinks at Noon it is really midnite, so you must scroll 12 hours ahead to repair this. There are usually 2 "clicks" on the stem of the watch when you pull it out, 1 will set time, 1 will set the day/date, be careful to pay close attention to which is happening when you pull out the stem, and setting should go well after that.

Try this: pull out the winding crown to the first click and change the
date. Memorize which way the crown turns to do that. Now turn the crown
in opposite direction and the day should adjust.
This solution wrks for most of the makes.
If this doesb't work - submit the make, model and all the writings on watch caseback.

The steps are like this :
1. Pull the crown full, and turn it clockwise until you find the right day.
2.
and then push it one click (dont push it to hard so it back to normal
position) and turn the crown counter clockwise to adjust date.
3. Push the small button near the crown to adjust month.
and voila... the problem solved
SOURCE: how do i adjust the date on my classic watch
You have to adjust the date every February (28 or 29 days), April, June, September and November (each 30 days). Self adjusting calendars are called Perpetual Calendars and this feature is quite expensive, especially in mechanical watches. Your watch has calendar ring with 31 days printed on and the simple calendar mechanism which is changing dates from 1 to 31 inclusive, day after day, so, when the 30-day month is ending and there is no 31st date to follow, your calendar is showing 31st anyway, instead of 1st of the next month. This is when you have to adjust date. Now about the date adjusting. If you pull out crown gently, you will notice there are two clicks (positions), not just one. So the first click, when crown is not pulled out fully, is exactly for day/date adjustment. If you pull the crown further out, watch is in hand adjustment mode. Try it carefully and you will find out the right position.
