The projector and the audio system for the TV are completely separate. There are many reasons your projector may not be working, however it's failure will not always effect the audio which runs through it's own circuits and amplifier to the speakers. Think of this as if you had your computer's VGA out plugged into a projector and the mini audio output plugged into amplified speakers. One will not effect the other unless your problem is a loss of power.

Sounds like it could be the entire light engine. The part is available on the Internet, but it runs $700 - $1200 without the lamp (although it sounds like you could use your existing lamp without a problem). These parts, however, are notoriously hard to find and may be backordered for months.
May not be worth the cost, but that's up to you.

check for popped or raised tops on caps in power supply. also try unplugging set for 5 minutes and resetting it. How about does your color wheel spin up? if your color wheel don't startup then your tv will also shut down. also check all fans they all should be running at turn on. if all fails i would say its your light engine.

The problem is ht leakage . remove the ultar cap of the tube and clean both the tube and cap with wd 40. then reinstall cap using some silicon glue.
this will correct your fault.
