Dimplex GDC9RWA only blowing room temp air ?

You missed the important bit 'air conditioner'. So it isn't chilling? Take it into a local refrigeration company. It probably needs a top up with refrigerant gas, but is may also be the thermostat. I trust you have is set to AC and not to 'Fan'?

When set to heat it blows out cool air.

Chances are your portable unit is a reverse cycle unit...If so, the leaving air temp in heating mode is not usually much warmer than room temp with 85 degrees F just about the maximum under PERFECT design conditions. A small portable in a large cold room may only be discharging 75 degree air, which is going to feel cold.

If your unit is NOT a reverse cycle unit, the heating source (probably electric resistance) is either not coming on at all or a portion of it is not coming on due to a defective element, burnt wire or a control issue.

Conia air conditioner reverse cycle - not blowing cold air; checked setting its correct.. it seems to blow cool air, but house is not cold. It was working fine last summer, not sure of problem.

If you feel cool air near blower, you have to service your unit completely. Because it's giving cool but not removing heat from room due to coil and air filter blocking. Helpful?

My Whirlpool window a/c is not cooling as well as it did last sum

I know it has been at least a year since your post. I am answering the post to terminate FixYa site activity on the post.

Remove the front cover. Check the routing of the temp sensor wire. It should go from the bottom of the control panel to the plastic clip in the evaporator coils. If it is touching the eavporator coils it will sense the refrigerant temp and cycle off early. If the unit is freezing up there is a restriction in the coolant lines and usually will require the coolant system be purged of foreign internal debris.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Ruud Heat Pump blows room temp on Heat and AC setting

A "Heat-Pump" is also known as a reverse cycle air conditioner, this means on heat the outdoor unit acts like the indoor section and vice versa. So in all probability you need to have it leak checked and recharged.
