Connect the hose and tape it in place, Stick the other end out at the window and block the space round it. This is a good, not perfect, solution as it does reduce\ slightly the diameter of your venting hose. However, at a total cost of £6.52, you might want to give it a go. Just an idea did you tried running just fans before putting it to cooling? As all air conditioners has options. Also turn down cooling to minimum and gradually increase it. It looks like you have turned cooling to maximum and turning on air conditioning so it trips the internal load relay for safety.
