Repairing fuel line on craftsman 32cc weed trimmer.

Cut the end of the line at a sharp angle. Spray WD-40 on the line and fuel tank hole. Slowly screw the line in the tank far enough so you can connect the fuel filter if you are replacing that line. If not just push the line into the tank if you have a two line system. Remember on the fuel primer, the long tip has the line going to the tank, and the short tip has the fuel line going to the carb.

Which way do you wind up the trimmer line so it doesn`t hang up on the spool when you need more line?

The direction of winding is on the spool and/or in the manual, if the line is getting stuck here are some tips:

Use only premium quality line of the correct size and shape, do not buy the mega rolls that will last you a lifetime rather buy the small roll each spring as the line can get brittle and weaken over time.
Avoid winding the line tight like fishing line on a reel and while winding occasionally dust it with baby powder.
Do not fill the spool with line more than half way.
Practice running the trimmer only fast enough to do the job, running the trimmer wide open is necessary only to add power for thick weeds. Running at high RPM makes the gear head, spool and line to overheat which can make the line 'vulcanize' to itself. You will also find that running at half or less speed uses up much less line and will make the trimmer last longer.

If you find that much of your trimming is in high, dense weeds such as a ditch that gets trimmed three or four times a year you may want to invest in a different head that utilizes plastic blades that swing out when spinning, these are much better than they were in the past and work great by limiting the cutting to a smaller area, they are stiffer and cut heavy weeds better. I chose a trimmer with the strait shaft and quick-link so I can easily change from the brush hog, line or swing out trimmer. I use the line trimmer only in areas where a deft touch is required such as around trees, shrubs or other delicate plants I do not want to accidentally scar or damage.

Ryobi weed trimmer

I have one of this trimmers. It is simple to replace the line.
-First line up the arrows on the bottom of the spindle.
-Then feed the line back in one of the holes in the side of the spindle (this is the same hole that the cutting string comes out of).
-You will see the line come out of the bottom of the spindle.
-Take that line a place it in the hole on the bottom of the spindle.
-Leave about 9 feet of string hanging out of the weed eater (do the same with the other side).
-Then turn the inside wheel (I can't remember if it is clock wise or counter clock-wise but it will only turn one way) most of the string is rolled into the spindle.
-Cut the string of about 5 inches out of the weed eater. You're ready to cut!
