SOURCE: Karcher KB3030 Pressure Washer

Dear doc doz,
Most probably you have the spill valve stuck in a position that keeps the machine off. This could happen for various reasons. It could get stuck by using plenty detergents or chemicals, without rinsing the machine afterwards. It could happen by leaving the machine under pressure for a long time. Most probably (with all respect) you used to store the machine when not in use, with the pressure still in the system. To fix this problem the machine has to be opened. When you come to the spill valve, you can bypass the micro switch and if the machine works, then it is the spill valve. Most probably it is the spill valve and you have not much expencies to fix the machine. If you do not know how to fix it yourself, I suggest that you take it to an expirienced technician.
Regards,
MG.

SOURCE: Electric Karcher pressure washer surging when turned on

Dear firenutt681,
One simple thing you can do, is to check for leaks. Check if hose at machine is leaking. Check gun if it is leaking. You can also check if water still comes out of lance nozzel. These leaks however so small, will cause the machine to surge.
Another reason is due to a faulty SPILL VALVE. This spill valve( often called CONTROL VALVE) will contract when the gun is closed. When it contracts under the enclosed pressure it will switch off the machine by means of a Micro Switch. Now if this Spill valve is faulty it will loose its compression under pressure and puts on the micro switch again. This can be seen once in a while or more frequent, as in your case. I sometimes do service Spill Valves, but mostly I replace them with a new one. I do not know the model number of your machine, but normally you have to open the cover and you should spot the spill valve on the head. Most probably you see a thick wire or a cap containing the micro swith. If you find the micro switch, you have found the spill valve. Sometimes it is a bit hard to pull out the spill valve. Myself, in various Karcher models I remove the spill valve by trying to feed water and put on a bit the machine. In this way the spill valve will be spitted out.
Another reason which makes your machine surge, is leakage from from the detergent inlet.
If you do not see no leakages at all....then for sure it is the SPILL VALVE.
If you cannot do this job yourself or you do not find spare parts...you can continue using the machine as it is...but before closing the gun...switch off the electricity. I only recommend this in an emergency. You do this so that you do not leave the machine surging. This surge will for sure damage the electric motor and the capacitor (assuming it is single phase).
Regards,
Fulltech.

SOURCE: karcher pressure washer leaking oil

Usually electric pressure washers only have oil on the pump, so its very likely that you will find the problem there. I'd say check all the pump seals and if that doesnt solve the problem, you can check to see if all bolts are tight when you close the pump back.
If by any chance you are looking for a new machine and/or parts for your machine, log in to www.roncoshop.com where you will be able to find pretty much anything for your preassure washer.

Check the pump. If it's turning you should have pressure unless the pump is leaking . Look it over closely.

i don't know what a car boot sale is but sounds as if relief valve is stuck open.if this car boot thing is a car lot they use all kinds of stuff to clean cars in the water they use to wash a car. this washer has probably been let set up without being flushed after use. the problem isn't in the pump most likely but a corroded relief vale. remove and clean.
