What causes my gas dryer to heat and the flame goes out

if you first have heat and then like 10 to 20 minutes later no heat you could have bad gas coils,on most gas dryers there's a plastic cap you can pop off on the front panel so you can look in and see the ignitor,if at first the ignitor glows orange and the flame lights then after a few minutes the ignitor glows orange and the flame doesn't light you have bad gas coils,they are located on the top of the gas valve,easy to change.part number 5303931775 go here and look at part 71

If what your seeing is that the flame starts out and goes off and a few later later the igniter glows but no flame??? then the cause of that is going to be the coils on the gas valve are weak and not opening. This is usually caused by faulty coils on the heat valve. they can be purchased seperate from the gas valve and are relatively easy to install..

Remove the entire venting system and thoroughly clean the lint out. This does cause this problem you have for no heat after running for a few minutes

sounds like bad gas coils the hold or assist, but i would change them both at the same time
they are the lilttle cylinders on top of the gas valve

Either the venting needs cleaned or the coils on the gas valve are bad. Unhook the venting from the back of the unit and run. If works ok then clean venting. If you still have the problem, replace the two coils on top of the gas valve.
