Why are Color bars showing instead of camera display

Sometimes if the device is PAL it will display black and white.

A line vertically down the screen (usually bright green) is a failed column strobe. This can be caused by the connections at the top of the screen failing or the strobe chip starting to die.

Random colours can be caused by a cracked screen or a failed video card.

Best to take it to a repair shop for it to be assessed.

Press the Func. button to diplay color modes in the little display.
When the display shows Color to the far left, you can switch color modes on the button below. STD is standard saturation, HIGH is high saturation, ORG. is less saturated that STD, and finally B/W

may be silly, but check on left of cam there are three switches. middle one says output. is it on cam or bars? Hope it helps

What is the display resolution you have set in your display properties? For this monitor it should be set to 1280x1024 pixels, which should give you proper screen geometry.

the tricolor screen means your device is on bootloader mode.

this mode is for reflashing your device OS.

if you entered this mode accidentally, you might try to release your device's camera button. Since the factory setting to enter bootloader is reset button+camera button from standby mode.

try to get battery out and release the camera button. many times happens that this button get stuck inside, because it's not a button you use many time and it get fully of dust.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

it seems that problem that ur facing is manly related to drivers but try booting into safe mode and incase ur screen look normal in it try installing the driver from support.dell.com.or check in bios and check the screen in case ur screen is still bad then contact dell

It sounds a lot like a bad color wheel if it was a DLP. IF it is a LCD then i would say one of the LCD panels is bad or possibly a connection problem that drives the panel or the connection that hooks up to the projector is suspect. Let me know if that helped you at all.It is strange that the bottom shows white though. Jay
