Hello,

The "E18 Sensor Alarm" is displayed when malfunction of sensors occurs. Check whether the cables between Control PCA and sensors are damaged and also check all the connectors are connected properly.

For detail code 1b, check Ultrasonic (US sensor)
For detail code 11, check Pick Sensor
For detail code 12, check Imprinter Top Sensor
For detail code 13, check Read Top Sensor
For detail code 14, check Exit Sensor
For detail code 15, check Reject Sensor
For detail code 17, check Skew Sensor

If the issue persists after checking the above, then you may have to replace the sensors and PCAs.

Hope the above information is helpful.

Thanks & regards,
ScanCare

I reread the manual and discovered that the sub code was 14. I replaced the exit sensor. Thanks for your time and conformation. I really hate these big scanners!

You need the detail code after the display has posted the E18.
This can be achieved by holding down both thickness keys down,

Reject Sensor would read o15 for example.
The favorite is o14 Exit Sensor (top middle right on exit)
especially on the pre mod units dated 2001 2004.

I need a solution to u1 error with detail code o5A in fujitsu fi-5900c scanner

Hello Marcus,
In Fujitsu fi-5900c scanner, Error 05a refers to JAM1 Sensor malfunction. You need to clean the two lenses of the JAM1 sensor with a cotton swab. Then check the performance of the sensor and also check sensor cable connections. This error also occurs if Pinch Roller 2 is installed left-right reversal. Check the same too. If the issue still persists, then you may have to replace the sensor.
If the above steps do not help, then you are recommended to contact the nearest Fujitsu service center for assistance.
Thanks & regads,

Fujitsu 4860c scanner error

There are 2 sensors on the background unit(Front) SF1.5 and SF 2

Both sensors look like black boxes. SF2 is nearest the reading glass and SF1.5 is below it. Make sure both are clean. There are also tests you can run in test mode to recalibrate the sensors, if that doesn't work you have to replace it.
