Sounds like you may have a circuit failure. Possibly the phase switch but that is not the usual symptom. In any case this should be sent to Nikon as they stopped selling parts a year ago, and also you need their proprietary software to initialize a new board if it is replaced.

SOURCE: got my Nikon d90 for

This is a common problem with this camera/lens conbo. I "solved" it by removing the lens, then reinstalling it - but hold the lens release button down, and rotate the lens a nuber of times (in the camera body) before releasing the button. It appears that the issue is poor electrical contact between the lens and camera body. If there is a poor contact, the camera will not know if thereis a focus and will lock the shutter release. With this poos contact, the camera will only fucntion in manual mode

Hope that this helps

SOURCE: Nikon D90 Memory Card Access Blinking

It's a deadly common problem of D90. Fixation:Simply go to the DSLR repair shop and ask them to change the power circuit board of the camera. Will take $60-70 if the board available. Reason of issue:The power control IC get short and feedback the battery power to the battery causing the draining out and other problem like the top LCD back lamp turned ON after turning on the camera. Careful:To avoid this issue in future, after full charge of the battery, do not put it in the camera right then. Wait for the battery to cool down for 5-10 min and then put it in. With the full charge, the battery hold high ampere for a short time. It could damage the power distributor IC suddenly if you put it in the camera right after a full charge. D90 won't work. Blinking Clock in top LCD panel.

First, turn the camera off and then remove and reinstall the battery. Turn the camera back on. If the clock and battery icons still appear, try resetting the clock. If this doesn't work, contact Nikon technical support at www.nikon.com and see what they have to say. It may require a repair but determine if the camera is still under warranty. If so, Nikon may repair it at no charge.

Nikon d90 control panel not working

In the (English) manual, on page 183 you find d9 from the menu settings (d; Shooting / Display): LCD illumination.
At the default setting of Off, the control panel backlight (LCD illuminator) will only light while the power switch is in the D position. If On is selected, the control panel will be illuminated while the exposure meters are active (pg. 35). Select Off for increased battery life. This option is available in all shooting modes.
So you have to go to the menu settings d9 and switch it on again.

Nikon ML-L3 set up for Nikon D90?

Set the camera's release mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the release, while delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

To change the camera's release mode, hold down the release-mode button to the right of the LCD panel on the top of the camera (marked with the overlapping rectangles) and turn the command wheel on the back of the camera. The icon at the top-right corner of the LCD panel will change. The quick-response remote mode is indicated by a picture of the remote, the delayed remote mode is indicated by both the remote and the self-timer (one-handed clock).

Nikon d90, blinking "Error"

You "release the shutter" by pressing the shutter release button, often called the shutter button. That's the button you press to take a picture :-)

The camera may or may not return to normal after that. If it doesn't, remove the battery, then put it back in and turn the camera on again. Try removing and reattaching the lens (with the power off). If the problem persists, have a certified Nikon tech look at it.

Nikon d90 wont turn on just flashing clock with a battery sign have charged battery and still the same ,help please

It may be you need some kind of repairs.
Since this is a fairly new camera (and expensive as well), I would suggest you to either email or call Nikon support or the repair department for information and possible repairs.
If you still have warranty on this unit it may be covered.
The support department may also be able to help on why it won't turn on.

If you can get to the menus, it may be possible to reset all to default.
One more thing, is to check the battery. Some of these cameras had defective and batteries with potential problems such as shorts. Nikon will replace any defective batteries.
