Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Nikon D90, I take the pictures but blank screen comes on to display screen on quick review and same on the Play mode as well. It is a new camera

Don't try to fix it yourself. If it is new, it is still under Nikon's one year warranty. Contact Nikon at 1-800-NIKON-US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday to Friday.

Memory card is alwasy flashing in D90

This indicates a problem with the memory card. It may mean the card is corrupted and will have to be replaced. It's also possible that you may be able to fix it by formatting it. You can format the card either through the camera menu or by simultaneously pressing the little trash can icon button at the top left on the back of the camera and the metering button on the top right next to the off/on switch. Both are marked with red and show "format" in tiny letters. Press both buttons for 2 seconds. A flashing "FOR" will appear in the display. When it stops flashing, the card is formatted. If there's a problem with the card, there may be some sort of error indication. If the card can't be formatted, it is corrupt and needs to be replaced. If you have pictures on the card, they will be lost when you format it. You might want to try to download any pictures from the card to your computer before you format it, but if the card is corrupt you may not be able to do that.

D90 won't work. Blinking Clock in top LCD panel.

First, turn the camera off and then remove and reinstall the battery. Turn the camera back on. If the clock and battery icons still appear, try resetting the clock. If this doesn't work, contact Nikon technical support at www.nikon.com and see what they have to say. It may require a repair but determine if the camera is still under warranty. If so, Nikon may repair it at no charge.

Image does not appear on media card when picture is taken

Check to make sure that the little sliding part on the side is not set on protect, so that you can't write to the card. AIf the card is OK, then the card holder on the circuit may be damaged. Check it with a strong flashlight for small broken plastic bits from a card that is keeping th e switch closed. If the switch is bent, you can try and straighten it with a small screwdriver blade.Remove the batter before you try any of this.

Is r13 an error message? If so, what is the error?

No. It's merely telling you how many more pictures you can take in the current burst before the buffer fills.

Hello, how to check if

Hi,

Personally, I never seen or heard of a fake DSLR camera before because it would cost a lot to make and work just as good as the real thing.

There are a difference in where they are manufactured, for example grey market and domestic market.

Grey Market camera gears are usually a little bit more affordable because it is manufactured somewhere else other than in your own country (US) and carry oversea warranty. The problem is the warranty will not be honor from Nikon USA because it is not manufacture from a US manufacturer or distributor.

SO when you shop, make sure that you are buying from a US distributor and not from a Grey market vendor. Some sites like B & H photo has an option for you to choose if warranty to you is not an issue.

I hope this helps.

I would like to buy a Nikoni d90 camera on

Craigslist advises that you only buy from local sellers, it is a good idea. Find one you like and ask the seller to meet you in a public place so you can inspect the camera. You do not have to pay for the camera if they don't show up or it is not a good camera. I use Craigslist very often and it is very reliable, but, buy locally.
