Select and confirm your password. Click "CreateAccount," then "Continue." 5 Locate the serial number forthe device. The serial number is beneath the GPS antenna on a small white tag.It is eight to nine digits long. 6 Enter the device ID for yourGarmin Nuvi, then click "Submit." The device ID is the serial numberof your device. 7 Connect your Garmin Nuvi toyour computer with a USB cable. Registering the new garmin nuvi 1450 is quite simple. What you need to do is to connect the garmin nuvi 1450 to a computer that has internet on it. Then you go to www.garmin.com then you select the support link, https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm then a list will pop up, select product registration, it will prompt you to create a user name and password, then it will ask for some information about the garmin you are trying to register.Then it willbe registered.

To be able you register yourGarmin nuvi GPS, you need to have a Garmin account. Thereafter, you can proceed for the Garmin nuvi GPS registration. After you have registered, you will have to enter your Garmin account to be able to register your Garmin nuvi GPS.

Follow this link to register your new Garmin nuvi GPS; https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm

When the link opens, Under language, select English and below, click on "Automotive" icon. This will proceed to the next page.

On top of "Username", you will see "Don't have an account? Create one". Click on the "Create one". It is underlined and typed in blue.

Now you are on the registration page. Enter your full name, e-mail address, username you would like to use and create a password.

After filling all the required information, at the bottom of the registration page, you will see "Create Account'. Click on and and registration is complete.

Further more, after the registration, you will need to update your map, follow the below directions;

1. Plug one end of the USB cable into your GPS and the other end into your desktop or laptop computer. The GPS device will load the appropriate driver automatically, and a message on your GPS tells you that it is connected to your computer via USB.
2. Open your Internet browser of choice and type in the following web addres: "http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 "
3. Download the appropriate version of the software for your computer (Windows or Apple) and Install the WebUpdater by following the wizard (accept defaults).

Registration of your nuvi is done online. You go to the garmin nuvi website, then register it from there. To register your nuvi, these are the steps to follow:

1. Connect your gps device to a computer using your USB cable,
2. Go to garmin website,
3. Select 'support' a list will pop out,
4. Select 'Product registration',
5. A page will pop up for you to enter a user name and password, that is if you already have an account with garmin, but if you do not, create a new account by clicking on the Create account link.
6. Then you enter your account information,

The Garmin product key, also called the product serial number, is included in the box your Nuvi i250 comes in. This number is nine digits; it's printed on the yellow specification sheet. Fortunately, the key is also printed on your Garmin unit, which is helpful in the event you lose your specification sheet. The Garmin product key is required to register your Nuvi i250 with Garmin. (Registration allows you to download software and map updates, and receive recall information.)

Follow the procedures below on your nuvi i250;

1. Turn your Nuvi i250 around to view its back.
2. Flip up the GPS antenna with your finger. Look behind the GPS antenna for the specification sticker.
3. Write down the nine-digit product key. With this number, you'll be able to register your Garmin. (See "Resources.")
