Is it the TV or the source? Does it do this on all inputs? try attaching DVD player.
Be sure all your connecting cables are good & installed all the way on both ends. if still have issue, may be your Main PCB

The factory setting for this apex tv is very loud. It's as low as it goes before zero and still too loud. Is it possible to adjust?

Hi. I don't know your tv, but it maybe the type of sound setting is the issue. You should be able to find where you can choose the audio "Profile" like Mono, Stereo, external amp, etc.. Or you may options like Theater, Personal Music etc.. These settings can change how the volume reacts. I would suggest you try differnt settings to see how they affect it. Good luck.

Jl 1000/1 goes into protective mode with low frequency

Do you have a capacitor????? If not, when its up loud and hitting hard it might be going into protection because of a voltage sag....If it goes below 11.8v they will usually do that.....Get a multi meter and put on the hot and ground of your amp when its playing loud and see what the voltage is dropping to.....If its going below 12v, thats your remedy...gd luck....

Was having a problem with the volume being too low, bought samsung surround sound system with speakers, still too low. Play a cd on the surround sound system, and it is plenty loud, but when watching TV...

Hi Lbirnel,

Your TV is not producing enough sound and so even the surround sound system is not able to do much.

Sometimes the software in the set gets corrupt and the sound goes low. Someone who can open the service menu and can check/correct the settings if this the case.

Secondally, the sound section on the main board is not producing enough sound due to aged or failed components. Again an experienced TV Tech can do the job.

If these two things are not possible, simply change the main board and enjoy watching your TV with good sound.

I hope it helps.

Good Luck.

Sound on my rca tv

I wonder if your problem with loud volume occurs primarily on commercial breaks, when you turn down
the sound and then, since the sound, for the program itself, is so low in volume, you have to turn it way
up again to enjoy the program?

If this is the case, and there are no other problems with the set, this may not be the set's problem, but the
fact that commercial material is broadcast at a higher volume than program material by some outlets, so
that while you are in the kitchen, during commercials, the sound of the commercial can still be heard.

Whining noise

The problem i had was when i would play my tv. I had it hooked from my dish to the sony then the tv. When i played a dvd,cd or the tuner it didn't make that noise. It seems my video/audio 2 channel was going bad. I disconnected my rca jacks and used the optical audio connection. The noise stopped and i got a better quality sound.

hope this helps
