How can I address this problem. I've looked on GE website for replacement part-no luck.
Well this is not a solution by any means but I would just put the tablet or powder directly into the machine-just "chuck it in". It will work just the same. The dispenser itself isnt truly necessary.
Common problem with these series (round door).
Two-part plastic linkage, operated by the timer motor.
If soap dispenser door "springs-back" when you attempt to close it, the lower part is probably OK.
Upper plastic arm, at timer has a spring, connected to a plastic pin by the timer motor. Often this pin breaks off. If this happened, the soap door won't latch properly. Upper arm could also be broken, but usually it's the pin. May be able to use a small sheet-metal screw to secure the upper arm spring.
