Where is the bios battery on a toshiba L675 S7018 laptop

Most laptops require you to take the laptopapart to get to the CMOS Battery. It will be a silver battery about the of a nickel on the motherboard. The most common isCR2032. Also sometimes the battery will be in a vinyl covering and have acable that attaches to a port on the motherboard. Which ever type you haveyou'll need to either remove the battery or unplug the cable and let the laptopsit for an hour or two. Then put it back, reassemble the laptop andreboot the laptop. With the CMOS battery out the computer will lose thedate and time.

Toshiba satelite bios password recovery

On laptops there isn't an easy way to recover passwords in the BIOS. Sometimes you can reset the password. Other times, you'll have to contact the manufacturer to get it reset.

Some laptops will allow you to reset the BIOS password by pulling the CMOS battery. The CMOS battery is typically located under one of the bottom panels for access to the memory or wireless cards. Some models have the CMOS battery connected by a small wire with a clip connector, others have the CMOS battery placed directly on the motherboard with a metal retainer clip.

Here is a link to a removable CMOS battery with wires: http://www.laptopparts101.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/removable-cmos-battery-560x420.jpg

Here is a link to a CMOS battery that is directly on the motherboard: http://www.laptopparts101.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/coin-cmos-battery-560x420.jpg

On a laptop, if you unplug the power cord, remove the laptop main battery and then remove the CMOS battery - and then wait at least 5 minutes, some models will blank out the BIOS password. Not every BIOS password can be erased by removing the CMOS battery - but if you are comfortable working on the laptop parts it is worth a try.

If removing the CMOS battery doesn't fix the BIOS password, the only option left is to contact the manufacturer for a reset. (If you took your laptop to a certified technician - they would just contact the manufacturer for the reset, and then bill the time to you!)

The number to contact Toshiba is 1-800-457-7777.

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. Where is the cmos battery located on a toshiba satelite A105-s2131

There are several access panels on bottom of your laptop. These should have markings that designate what is behind each. CMOS battery can be either behind the hard drive panel or the memory card panel.

Alternatley, you can try this link to Tom's Hardware where someone is discussing how to do on a similar model. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/247842-30-replace-cmos-battery-toshiba-satellite
