High definition audio controller This device cannot start. (Code 10)

If you run into the error "This device cannot start. Code 10 (often followed by a driver identifier, for example "This device cannot start. Code 10 in audio driver"), here is what it means. The Windows error "This device cannot start. Code 10 or "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" is a hardware error that most commonly means that you have a bad, missing, or incompatible device driver. So, for example, "This device cannot start. Code 10 in audio driver" means that you have a bad or missing or incompatible driver for your sound card. The technical explanation for this message, according to Microsoft, is this: "If the device has a FailReasonString value in its hardware key, that string appears as the error message. The driver or enumerator puts this registry string value there. If there is no FailReasonString in the hardware key, you receive the following error message: This device cannot start. (Code 10)" What does that mean in plain English? It means that if the device which is throwing the error has added its own custom error text to your Windows system when the device was installed, then when the device encounters an error, you will see the custom error message specific to that device. But if it doesn't have its own custom error message, then Windows uses its own generic error message for devices, which is "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" Microsoft recommends that when this happens, you click "Update Driver" to update the drivers for the device. You can also start the Windows troubleshooting wizard by going to the general properties tab of the device, and clicking on "Troubleshoot". Before doing this, be sure that you have the correct and most up-to-date versions of the driver(s) for that device. You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the device, using the disk which came with it. Finally, you can go to the website of the device's manufacturer, and check their downloads or support section for current, up-to-date drivers. Go to Toshiba support site look for Toshiba Satellite A135 drivers, download the one for your windows 32 or 64 bit install, restart and off you go. Regards, Mike

Taking forever to connect with enternet

Try connecting at different times of the day. It may not be a problem with your ISP not you. There are certain times of the day when my connection drops by 90%. My hardware is the same so its just down to a local bottle neck. Connect your ISP. If you run Speedtest or another connection testing application you can get some stats on how fast your connection is running. With this information you can contact your ISP. http://www.speedtest.net/

If the keyboard is not working it also affected the touch pad in the travel mate 4740 ?

The keyboard and touchpad each have separate ribbon connectors that can get disconnected from the motherboard. After gaining access by undoing case screws, the repair is easy remembering to push in the flat retaining bar that keeps the ribbon connectors tight against the motherboard.

No icons

To enable missing icons and more, right click on your desktop and choose Properties. Click on the Desktop tab and hit the Customize Desktop button. Next, under the General tab, check off any of the icons you want to appear on your desktop.
Once you do that, they will all be returned to your desktop in full view. You can choose from the icons of My Documents, My Computer, My Network Places and Internet Explorer. Now, on the other hand, you may want to take some of those icons off your desktop. If that's the case, just uncheck them and they will be out of your way

I have a toshiba A135-S4656. The fan needs replaced or a cleaning

Getting to the fan on your laptop is VERY DIFFICULT. There's a lot more screws, wires and snaps holding the computer together than you'd imagine. It's best to get a professional to do it, however less and less people these days are willing to pry open someone's laptop because a lot can go wrong.
If you've backed up your laptop and are willing to risk not being able to put it back together, then go ahead. To get to the fan you actually need to get through the top. Unscrew every screw you can find on the back and the bottom. You'll need to open up the hard drive and motherboard because there's screws there too. Pry off the piece covering your speakers, then the keyboard, then unplug the ribbon wires by moving the little plastic things, all the while unscrewing everything you see. Good luck.

Toshiba satellite m305d power light

Either your motherboard, CPU, or GPU have fried. You can try to re-seat your ram but if there is no beep/beeps and nothing but a power light, and fan running for a couple seconds those are the only options. If your handy you might get lucky and get it to work for a little (as long as you have thermal paste) Remove heatsink, & fan, then the CPU blow out the connections with compressed air (to go the extra mile electronic cleaner) then let dry for a few hours reassemble, hoping for the best the whole time mind you.
