I have a Sony STR DE915 amp. It will not power up. I checked the internal fuse (it's OK). Power button has dislodged and may be broken. Am looking for disassembly instructions (not schematic diagr

Worked a week ago. I've got it partially disassembled, but don't want to make it worse by pulling boards off in the wrong order. Want to get to power button board.

SOURCE: sony str-da50es. Does not power when power button is pushed.

Hi,
This problem is very common in this model the solution is to replace the fuse with improved one 10A 125V of type CES710A having part No.1-576-695-11. Remember that this fuse would be larger in size of earlier one so that you have to drill it first in the holder and adjust the fuse to a proper space of 1.4 drill bit.
Do the changes and your product work fine.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Sony STR-V333ES repeatedly clicks

You most likely have a short in one of your speaker wires (+ and - are touching somewhere) causing the receiver to enter a protect mode "Click!". Disconnect all speaker wires then connect and test each one at a time to find the culprit. I've seen this happen with speaker wire or a subwoofer cable that is too small of a gauge. Hope that helps.

I have a sony str-De915 receiver and my surround sound and subwoofer want play even when I play Dolby pro logic

Check your settings on the unit and also the source of the sound. Sometimes it can get switched to PCM by mistake, or can be interfered with by something like a setting for down-mixing, which should be switched off.

Simple, if you are not confident in your ablility to fix the problem by dissasembling the boards then by all means, take it to a repair facility.

No audio. Checked all the basics. Internal fuses are ok. Is this worth fixing?

Check power supply transformer, that could be last thing before deciding to throw it away.

I have a SONY STR DE915 receiver home theater amp. After 14 years, it decides not to power up! Are there internal fuses? Can i replace the power supply myself?

There are internal fuses that you can check. This model was notoriously bad for amp problems. These amps would burn up a lot of components when they go out.

Hello, I need help with my sony str-de197 receiver. Then I hit power on button, there is a click sound inside the box, but nothing happens, there is nothing on display too. I have checked 2 fuse's, it's...

It sounds like the switch might be OK mechanically but not electrically. Have a look to see if you can check the connections on the switch. Perhaps there is a broken or loose or bad solder joint.

No sound out of left speaker

did the left channel work when u switched speakers, if so then the left speaker or wiring is a fault.if not then the output circuits on the amp are blown or the fuse is blown some amps have internal fuses in the output to protect the output transistors. unplug the power cord and take the cover off, look to see if u can find any fuses and check these for continuity u can hold these up to the light and u should see a fine filiment in one piece and not broken. these fuses sometimes blow just from age and use at high volume like a regular light bulb.If the fuse is blown replace with the same value else the output transistors will need to be replaced most likley along with the drivers.
