SOURCE: I have HP PROLIANT DL

need to provide moreinfo.
is the server (prolaint DL380) constantly rebooting within BIOS mode or has it got to the stage of running windows.
The other item not mentioned here, is, IF the raid controller has failed, you will not see any disks initializing and would cause the system to continually reboot.
If it is an internal raid controller, it is part of the motherboard, you will need to contact HP to have it replaced.

If an pci related array controller .. i.e. separate to the motherboard, this will need to be replaced to see the HDD's.
Either way sounds like a hardware issue. Best to liaise directly with vendor to have the faulty components replaced.

SOURCE: hp proliant dl 180 g5 cooling fan issues fan given noise

I would power the server off. Blow it out with a can of air. Power it back up.. If it is still making a noise, you need to replace the fan.

I bought Few HP proliant DL 380 G4 servers....they do not have any operating system...i want to install windows server 2000 but it keeps giving me a message " "Setup didnt find any hard drives...

Hello,

First, make sure all your connections are secure and the BIOS is seeing your hard drives. When you start the install of Server 2000, you will see a prompt at the bottom of the screen saying if you have third party software to install press any key. (or something to that effect.) Press any key and install the needed software drives for the SCSI controller. You will need this to move forward. If you do not have the drivers, you will need to download them to a cd or usb drive to complete your server install.

Good Luck.

Hi,
Disable the ASR auto-reboot feature from System Management web page. open a case at HP, and run the diagnostic tools from smartstart CD. Kindly let me know.

I have a dl 380 g4 it powers up, the hard drive lights come on. I get all green lights no amber. I get no video and the keyboard lights do not come on. It acts as though it does not POST. I have swapped...

Unfortunately, this is most likely a bad system board. Have you tried to RDP or telnet to the machine after it boots? That is, assuming you have some form of remote access enable of course.

Hello , HP Proliant Server Problem.

Use a different monitor and connect it directly to the server, if problem persist you have a problem with the systemboard or microprocessor.

DELL DL-380 G5 "could not allocate page table memory" GSS 2.5

First of all, Dl380 is an hP product.
Secondly your ghost version seems a bit old as ghost 14 is the latest version. Having said that the problem could be at two ends.
1. At the ghost side where your version doesnot contain NIC drivers for PXE boot and HDD drivers for imaging. To fix this you can try manually adding the drivers to the network boot or floppy boot diskette.
You can get the drivers from HP website or the PSP CD that came with the server.

Alternatively you can upgrade to RDP instead of GHOST, RDP is Symantec's offering sold by HP for imaging it's servers.

2. There's some problem with your NIC settings or card if you are trying to PXE boot.
If you are using a floppy drive/ usb HDD, check from BIOS if it is detected.
