Ge Triton will not drain.

Replaced Timer , complete motor assembly, and checked pump. If I hook pump to test cord it will pump sump out completly without a problem. I do not have really much left to change. I would like to know if anyone knows what tells the pump to turn off.

Completely disassembled + tested GE dishwasher, but still won't drain

Air Gap on the sink could be clogged.
Solenoid on the motor could be melted or overheated and it is not letting the check valve open.
Also the motor should make noise. It could be stuck so that it gets voltage but is not turning. You can hear it humming. Unplug the dishwasher and from the front underneath, you can see the fins of the motor. It should spin freely. If it is stuck, the you can force it free by turning the fins with a couple of screwdrivers.Sometime if you don't use the dishwasher weekly, the motor seals dry and gets stuck.

GE Triton 24

Hi

Please note that dishwashers don’t drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn’t overheat.
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you’ll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

Please post back for any further assistance.

Washer not draining

a lot of GE washers use a separate motor/pump assembly that is supposted to drain the tank before it spins. That motor is not very strong and can stall if it gets a little clogged with hair or lint or cloth threads. My dad's did that from tassels from a bed spread that fell off in the wash. You can take the front cover off with a knife blade to push the lock clips in so the cover pulls off.

when you do that you can remove the hoses to the pump and pull the clogged material out.

Kenmore Elist Oasis Washer will not proceed to rise, drain spin mode we receive an LD error. We have inspected the drain and pump still receive error. We have unplugged washer to allow it to "reboot" still...

I recommend checking the drain hose that connects to the house sewer system. Stuff tends to get stuck in the hose (lint, coins, etc.). Also, you should check the sump are if you haven't

My dishwasher does not completely drain after a wash. what do i do?

  1. Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit
  2. Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
  3. Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
  4. Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )
  5. Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
  6. If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock out plug at connection.
  7. Check pump impeller for damage.
  8. Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off

Triton XL GE Profile Dishwasher does not wash dishes well, but in particular, leaves a cloudy film.

If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check these:
Drain line/air gap Aclog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reasonthat a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point wherethe drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drainline. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hoseor hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting thedishwasher again.

Pump Yourdishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directlyto the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You canreach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to removethe lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.

Lookfor an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spinsaround. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through thespray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which issimilar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impellerpushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up thepump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replacethem.

Drain valve and/or solenoid Manydishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. Whenelectricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts thewater to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly.Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you mayhave to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, themotor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drainvalve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse thedirection of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't havea drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to thepump housing.

Belt One brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. If this belt is broken or has fallen off, replace it.

Motor Ifthe motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain. First checkto be sure you have power to the dishwasher. If not, see the section"It doesn't work at all." If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it mayneed to be replaced.

Some dishwashers are susceptible togetting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run thedishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin themotor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it.Dishwasher motors can't be serviced.

Timer Partof what the timer does is control the motor and drain valve. If thetimer doesn't work properly, the water may not drain and you need toreplace the timer. This problem is uncommon.
As for testing water hardness, you can find these at your local plumbing store, or even the electricals where you bought the dishwasher from.

Hope that helps!
