Radio will not turn on

did the voltage selector on the back of the unit possibly get moved to wrong setting? You could also try switching it back & forth a few times (unplugged first of course) to see if maybe the switch needs "cleaning"

It is possible that the unit got hit by a small voltage surge and if you leave it unplug from the wall for 40Min., it will reset back to normal.

My wife's unit has the same issue - tried the firmware update (from Sony's website) and their suggested fix with no luck. Still works as a digital picture frame, but wrong date and stuck time kind of disappoint.

FYI - Suggested fix for stuck date/time:

Unplug unit.
Remove backup battery.
Leave for 30 seconds.
Plug back in and then put battery back.
Set date and time.

Didn't work for me, but maybe you'll have better luck.

You will need to reset the microprocessor in the Clock/Radio. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio and remove the internal battery. Let the Clock/Radio set for at least 1 hour and then put the battery back in and plug in the Clock/Radio. The functions should return to normal. If not, replace the battery (CR2430) and leave the Clock/Radio unplug for a period of hours. Then put in the new battery and and plug in the Clock/Radio to see if the functions have returned to normal. If not you may have a more serious problem with the microprocessor. You can call the Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020 between the hours of 7am-5pm CT. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance. I hope this information help you with your problem.

Passat 97 need to re-enter code ( 4 ) digit, however it shows the number 2 on the on screen when the radio is turned on.

Hi pat... bad news I'm afraid. You need to get the code from Eurovox. There is a way to change/defeat the code, but it involves having the thing apart on the bench and actually fitting a new memory chip to the radio that does not have a code. I used to do this if someone left a unit for repair and we were not left the code. I have cut and pasted the FAQ from Eurovox's site for you, Click the link to their code request form. Why is my radio not working after the battery was disconnected/replaced?
The radio requires a security code to be entered. (also known as PIN number). A security code is either 4 or 6 numbers long for most of Eurovox Units.

How can I obtain my security code?
Download the Security Code Request form located in the Downloads section. Fill it out and send it in via fax or email with proof and payment. The serial number & model number of the piece of Eurovox equipment is essential. A new security code card will then be mailed to you and your details will be registered in our database.

Why does Eurovox charge for supplying a security code?
Security and administrative reasons. We enter your details in our database so if you lose it again you only have to identify yourself and give the serial number and we will give you the security code again, we also send you a new code card.

How do I enter my security code to my Eurovox radio/cassette/CD Unit?
Refer to the owner's manual of your equipment. Turn ignition key to 'Accessories' & a number '1' or code '1' or similar will appear. Press corresponding preset buttons as you read you security code. If you have a 6 digit security code, the display will count the preset buttons pressed. i.e. display will show '1' the '2' then '3' & so on up to '6' regardless of which number is pressed. If the security code is correct, the radio will turn on. If the security code is incorrect, the display will show '2' or 'code 2' or similar. After 3 incorrect attempts, the radio will go into 'lockout mode'.

Why has my radio got horizontal lines on the display & is not responding to any buttons?
The radio has had 3 incorrect security codes entered & is now in lockout mode. For recent model radio's leave 1 hour (some radio's require ignition key to be on accessories). For older model radio's, remove power to radio by either unplugging radio or disconnecting the negative lead on the battery for 1 hour.

(1) This radio may have been replaced and now requires a different security code
(2)The security code you have been supplied is wrong.
(3)This radio has an internal fault. To check if radio works there is a temporary test code '1111' or '111111' can be used for most of Eurovox Radio. This only lasts for approx 3 minutes.

How do I enter security code to my overhead DVD/Screen combo unit?
Using the <<or>> buttons on the overhead console, scroll up or down to select the first number. Once the correct number is shown, press the ENT button. Repeat this procedure to enter the 4 digit code. As each digit is entered, it will be shown on the display.

Why does "Code Input Error" appears on my overhead DVD/Screen Combo Unit?
If incorrect codes are entered for more than 3 times, your Eurovox overhead DVD/Screen unit will show "Code Input Error" on the display.
Leave car key in the car and turn it to Accessories for approximated 1 hour, the overhead DVD/Screen unit will reset itself and shows"Security Input 1***" on the display.

If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

I think it has to do with hooking up your unit via the usb cable to the computer. I got one from Radio Shack and it worked fine for a day, drove with it and shut it on and off a couple of times. Then I hooked it up to my emachine computer, and all I got was a white screen. Took it back got another one, drove with it, turned it on and off a couple of times, worked fine. Then I hooked it up to my computer, and again the same white screen until I reset it. I noticed all these posts are in the last few days, so I would say it is a bad batch of units. I purchased one for my wife 3 weeks ago and no such problem.

Sorry it took so long to reply to your problem.You must try to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must disconnect the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Let the Clock/Radio set without any power source for about 3 hours. This should completely drain all the power from the microprocessor. After this is done, reinsert the internal battery and plug the Clock/Radio into the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio's functions should return to normal. If they do not return to normal. Unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Replace the internal Battery (CR2430). Let the Clock/Radio again drain all the power from the microprocessor. Insert the new battery and Plug the Clock/Radio into the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio's functions should return to normal.If you should still be having problem with the functions of the Clock/Radio, you will need to call Emerson Customer Support. The telephone number for Emerson Customer Support is 1-800-909-1240. Call them between the hours of 8am-4:30pm CT.
