SOURCE: No power on right hand side burners

WHEN THE SURFACE SWITCHES ARE IN A ROW ON THE CONSOLE, THEY ARE USUALLY WIRED IN PARALLEL FOR THE INPUT VOLTAGES(RED AND BLACK WIRES ATTACHED TO EACH OTHER). IF THERE IS A BURN OUT OF ONE OF THE WIRES, IT WILL AFFECT THE OTHER SWITCH INPUTS DOWN THE LINE.
TAKE OFF THE BACK PANEL OF THE CONSOLE AFTER UNPLUGGING IT AND CHECK FOR VISIBLE SIGNS OF WIRES BURNT. REPAIR OR REPLACE IF NEEDED. SOMETIMES, THEY WILL DAMAGE THE TERMINAL OF THE SWITCH THEY ARE ATTACHED TO. IF THIS IS THE CASE, THE SWITCH WILL ALSO HAVE TO BE REPLACED.

SOURCE: viking range burners won't light

All of these ranges have a spark module at each burner sight and they all click when ever you attempt to light one burner. Therefore, it can not be assummed that the spark module for those nonworking burners are actually clicking. Remove the burner covers and actually look for the sparks. If there is no spark make sure the connections are nice and tight. IF they are, you most likely need to replace the spark module.

Kenmore gas range when no clicking when turning the oven on

Range: Gas burner won't spark or ignite A surface burner igniter switch and a spark module activate the spark electrode when a burner is turned to the "Lite" position on a gas range's cooktop. If the surface burner switch, spark module or wiring in that circuit fails, the spark electrode won't work, and as a result the gas burner won't light. If those components work but the electrode won't spark, the problem could be that the spark electrode is coated with spilled food of is bent or broken. In addition, the electrode won't spark or ignite the burner properly if the ceramic insulation sleeve below the tip of the electrode is cracked or broken. If the gas burner isn't lighting, these repairs may help.

Replace the spark igniter electrode

1396454293470.jpg The spark igniter electrode-also called the surface burner igniter-is an insulated electrode that provides an ignition spark to light a surface gas burner. It sparks and makes a ticking sound when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the spark ignition electrode if it fails to spark or if the ceramic insulation sleeve is cracked or chipped. How to Replace a Spark Igniter Electrode in a Gas Range Find This Part

Replace the surface spark module

1377098014986.jpg The surface spark module is in the ignition circuit for the gas surface burners. When a surface burner control knob is turned to the "Lite" position, it provides voltage to the spark electrodes on the gas surface burners. If the surface spark module fails to provide the electrodes with voltage, then it should be replaced. Find This Part

Replace the spark igniter switch

1396454315355.jpg The igniter switch is an electrical switch on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve. This switch completes a circuit to the surface burner spark module, causing the burner igniters to spark when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the burner igniter switch if the burners don't spark when you turn the burner control knob to the Lite position or if igniters spark constantly even when the burner knobs are in the Off position.

Only left side of burners working

If you have the Cal Flame burners that are straight, cast brass burners, there is a slot under neath the burners on the back end of the burners. This slot allows the flame to move from the left side of the burners to the right side of the burners. This slot in the burner will corrode shut and not allow the flame to move from the left to the right side. Sometimes you can scrape out the corrosion, and sometimes you can not. If you can't get the slot open, then you have to replace the burners. Cal Flame burners also have a reputation for warping.

I have voltage to each side but the burners will not heat up. Indicator lite comes on and the blower comes on

Hello Gary,
Their is one of two things wrong why your surface burners are not working.
1) the block that the burners plug into it bad...it is very common for the burner block to be worn down and making very poor contact with the burners and thus their is power at the blocks and yet the burners will not work
2) the burners their self are bad

Where is the serial number located on stove?

If it is labeled like the other VGIC stoves, the serial number is on the left hand side of the burner box (stovetop). Remove the left side surface burner grates, burner bowl and grate supports.

I hope this helps.

Lg flat surface stove burner

Replace your infinite switch for this (your lf burner switch). Call a parts supplier with your model number, try and get an exact switch, not a generic switch. Do not replace the switch without unpluggin your range first. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Why would an electric oven stop working? I tested the element

There are a few things to check for. Make sure the electrode ( the small metal piece that the spark comes off from ) is clean and the holes in the burner are clean, use a pin or paper clip to clean out the burner holes and NOT a tooth pick as these can break off and make things worse. Example of a burner. The next thing to check for are theignition switches under the surface control knobs, the switches can twist and break and keep the spark module on and the spark keeps "clicking" even when the burner is light. If every thing looks good, you may have a bad spark module, replace it. Sometimes cleaning can get moisture into the surface switches, try drying them with an hair dryer to see of this will help. Repair and checking tips for surface burners.

Magic Chef Range in camp trailer, pilot light in the oven works however, the burner will not light when turned on. No gas flows. Propane furnace works ok and the propane bottle is full. The surface burners...

Hi,

The most common problem for gas surface burners is that they get gas but don't light. This is generally caused by dirt or grease splatters on the burner itself. Residential-grade range/stove burners are round and have small holes around their perimeter to allow gas to flow out and create a round flame. The gas coming from these holes is often ignited by a small vertical row of holes on the side of the burner. If these vertical holes are clogged or obstructed, the gas can't ignite.

The solution is to clean the burners thoroughly. Use a toothpick to clear the small vertical holes, then allow the burner to dry completely and try lighting it again. If it doesn't light immediately, repeat the procedure

or

May be the ignitor, replaced mine and it fixed it. A gas company guy told me that is common in Magic Chef ranges.

I have a new ge range. When I turn on the left

mvek,
If you could see through the glass, you'd see "temperature sensors" located near the elements. They're very sensitive little guys, and rightly so! Their job is to detect temps and energize the warning light on the cooktop so users won't get burned.

To answer your question... It appears that there is an issue with the front left sensor (and possibly the right as well). The temp warning lamps should NEVER go off immediately. Please call for warranty repair (1-800-GE-CARES). This is an unsafe condition for you and your Family. The warning indicators are there for a reason and should indicate high temp's as long as high temp's are present.
