My Panasonic DVD-RA60 player is stuck in "tray is locked"mode and we cannot get the disc out. Tried unplugging, holding down the on/off button while simultaneously holding open/close and stop - nothing works and we have a library dvd in there!Went online and found manual for RA60 and there is no mention of locking dvd tray or how to deactivate setting...

My panasonic dvd player shows locked when I tried to eject. I can't eject tehDVD. My kids could have jinxed it. Model panasonic sc-pt550 TQ

There are two lock conditions for this device.

If you can't eject the disc:

Enabling removal of disc

1. Select the DVD/CD function.

2. At POWER ON condition, press and hold down the stop button and the power button on the player for at least three seconds.

(The message, "___LOCKED_" appears when the function is activated.)

If you can't operate the functions:

Enabling operation of selector and disc

1. Select the DVD/CD function.

2. At POWER ON condition, press and hold down the play button and the power button on the player for at least three seconds.
(The message, "___LOCKED_" appears when the function is activated.)

Hope this helps!

DVD stuck in tray of Panasonic RA60.

many dvd players have a small hole near the tray. if yours has this little hole just straighten out a small paper clip to form a straight piece of wire and insert the wire in the hole. That will open it up for you.

Visit the site linked above. It has details about the taking disc out in emergency, of many popular brand DVD players. Search the site by type in the "brand name" of your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

DVD Player won't open

Try this. This works on some brands and models.

Power up the unit. Using the remote, press and hold the 'STOP' button for about 5 seconds. Release and press the 'OK' button.

Stuck in self check mode

Manually pull down the front shield, then somewhat forcefully pull down the inner shield and maybe two little white pins so the tray is exposed with nothing blocking it. Have someone plug the machine in while you are holding everything out of the way and the tray should start to open. Pull your fingers out quickly so you don't block the tray from sliding out.

Locked dvd tray.

To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears.   The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button.

To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
