How do i fix the following message on my linksys router Response header parsing failed: Response data.

First and foremost, did you start with the Holy Grail of steps when dealing with routers?
30-30-30

YES! It does make a difference and it matters.
Hopefully you haven't bricked it (probably not).

If it is powered on, press and HOLD the reset button until the VERY END, DO NOT LET UP.
Holding the reset button for 30 seconds, then unplug the power and wait 30 seconds, plug power back in and wait 30 seconds. . . NOW you can let up on the reset button.

Now you can try and reflash the firmware, DO make sure you are using the correct version of DD-WRT for your EXACT model AND Version.

I have only done a few, but the 30/30/30 is crucial I am telling you!

Router was reset and had to make it secure. When I applied the password it said invalid password. Tried several times. Then I got an unable to join message. Next day worked a little more on the router...

If you reset the router perhaps you reset the password as well. there are default password lists on the internet for your make and model router. However for your username and password i would try admin for both fields, or just user and leave password blank. If that doesnt work sometimes tech is the default password. Again it depends on the model. this is a site for default passwords. your router may be here http://www.searchlores.org/defpasslist1.htm
Hope this helps you Sean
