Slope field casio

I need a slope field program for Calculus AB. My classmates have TI's and the program my teacher has will not transfer onto mine. If there is a download for a program, or manual instructions for a "Slope Field 2" program, that would be great.

There are many programs on the web. Here is a link to one of them. I do not know if it satisfies your needs.

SLOPE FIELD Casio 9800
You will have to type it in.. For other choices, I suggest you launch a Google search and follow some of the links.

SOURCE: Linear regression

I already answered a Q like this - you can't do 2 variable statistics on the TI-30XA, it only does one variable statistic.

To do 2 variable stat like linear regression, you need the TI-36X or TI-30X IIS, or comparable HP, casio etc

SOURCE: I need to know how to get to reduced row echelon form

OS updates for the Casio Graphing Calculatorss are now available. This will enable the GCs to compute the Reduced Row Echelon Form (RREF) of matrices and thus enable you to solve systems of linear equations quickly, no matter the number of unknowns / equations. They will now also be able to tell whether or not a system has no solutions or infinitely many solutions from the RREF of the augmented matrix. Try updating your calculator OS from edu.casio.com.

SOURCE: how to find slope with

Assuming your two point coordinates are of the form (x1, y1) and (x2, y2).
There are two possible methods:
You can use the slope formula which is commonly known as "rise over run." To do this: slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) This means that the vertical distance covered by the two points divided by the horizontal distance covered by the two points is equal to the slope.
You can use your calculator's linear regression capabilities:
First step: Press the STAT button (next to the arrow keys toward the top right of your calculator).
Second: Select the first option, Edit...
Third: Under L1, enter your first x value, press enter, enter your second x value, press enter again.
Fourth: Under L2, enter your first y value, press enter, enter your second y value, press enter again.
Fifth: Press the STAT button again. Press the right arrow button to highlight CALC.
Sixth: Select the fourth option LinReg(ax+b).
Seventh: Press 2ND then 1 (L1 should show up on your screen). Then press the comma button (right above the number 7). Press 2ND then 2 (L2 should show up on your screen). Press ENTER.
Eighth: Once you press ENTER, several values will appear. The a value is the slope of the two coordinates.

How do you find the slope of an equation?

If your equation can be written in the form of a function (y=f(x)),
the slope of the function at a point is the derivative of the function at the point. For any function that is not a constant or linear, you need calculus to find the slope.
If the function is of the form y= ax +b, the slope is the value a.

Installing

Try to find a classmate who has the same calculator (TI84 Plus or TI84 Plus Silver Edition) and effect a transfer of the OS from the classmate's calculator using an IO cable.
Alternatively, download the new version of TI Connect (version 4.) and install it on your computer. Then connect your calculator to the computer through the USB cable. When it recognizes the calculator click the update button in TI Connect interface and select update OS. Good luck.

I want to transfer my programs from a TI - 84 to a casio fx- 9750GII, how do I do this?

No, you'll have to manually type it in. The TI and Casio programming languages are similar but not identical, and the internal representations are completely different. Even if you transferred a program from one to the other, it would only be a meaningless collection of bytes.

Reset memory . . all apps are gone

If one of your classmates has an IO cable, you can use it to tranfer the apps from his/her calculator to yours. If not, you will have to buy a USB standard to USB mini cable. After installing TI Connect on your computer you should be able to download the apps from education.ti.com and transfer them to the calculator.
And of course, there is the obvious way: Own up to your mistake and ask the teacher to tranfer the apps to the calculator.

My daughter is starting 6th grade and they have asked her to get a T1-30XA or TI-83/TI-84, she is not advanced in math. Which on would you recommend ?

The Ti83/84PLUS are a lot more advanced than the TI-30XA because thaeu can graphs, statistics, calculus etc. But they lack a key for the % function, and a key for the fraction manipulation, the angle unit conversions (deg, radians, et grads) and they are a lot more expensive than the TI30XA.

Before your daughter finishes high school, you will eventually have to buy her a graphing calculator but right now a TI83/84Plus calculator seems like overkill. Besides some teachers may not let students have graphing calculators during exams.

Honestly I suggest you buy the TI-30XA Solar version. There are some new nifty calculators manufactured by Casio (Casio FX-115ES, FX-991ES, FX-300ES), Sharp (El-506W, 516W ). The beautiful thing about these new kinds of calculators is that you can configure them to use the Textbook display: equations and expressions can be entered as they would appear in textbooks. The Casios are called Natural Display and the Sharps are know as WriteView models.
In fairness to Texas Instruments, they too have calculators that incorporate that display format but I do not know the exact model numbers (maybe TI34XII multiview).

Connecting casio to texas instr

I compared two cables and noticed that they are identical. One insulating part on the TI cable is longer than the corresponding part on the Casio cable. But no matter, let us assume that the calculators share the same 2.5 mm connection.
You can verify the hardware compatibility as follows
  1. Use the Casio I/O cable to connect two TI calculators. The Casio cable wakes up the TI84PLus
  2. Use the TI I/O cable to connect to Casio calculators. The TI cable wakes up the Casio FX9550GII but not the CFX-9750GPlus nor the Graph 35. But that may not mean too much.
  3. Create a Matrix ( a 3X3 ) on one TI8xPLUS and transfer it to another TI8xPLUS using the Casio Cable.
  4. Create a small (3x3) matrix on one Casio C/FX-9750G/PLUS and transfer it to another C/FX-9750G/Plus.
  5. If you have been successful in any of the above you may try to transfer an object from a TI to a casio or from a Casio to a TI and the cable that worked above.
My feeling is that you cannot. I tried it
When I tried to transfer from a TI to a Casio, the Casio kept displaying RECEIVING , AC to cancel. The TI returned an Xmit ERROR
When I tried to transfer from a Casio to TI, the Casio quickly returned a Transmit Error, while the TI kept waiting for a transmission.

There may be other issues of memory organization, naming conventions, systems commands and program commands so on.

For each problem you want to have your students solve try to supply the procedures for both types of calculators. This, in my opinion, is the reasonable way to go. A benefit to you is that you learn the expert use of both types of calculators.
If you care to specify what kind of programs you intend to transfer from one to the other, one may be able to point you to some resources available on the web.

How to calculate calculus problem by a scientific calculator fx-991ms

Hello,
If by calculus problem you mean derivatives of functions, integrals, extrema and such things, I am sorry to inform you that neither the Casio FX-300MS, nor the FX-991MS can handle them. The newer Casio calculator FX-991ES is capable of performing numerical differentiations and integrations. There also graphing calculators by Casio FX-9750G, FX-9860G as well as by Texas Instruments (TI 83 PLUS/TI84PLUS) that are reasonably performant in that area.

Hope it helps.
