Overload relay rattles, but the relay doesnt. could overload be weak? i do here it clicking off after a few seconds of the compressor trying to start. its an armana bx20s5w bottom freezer. both relay tests...

:
Hi!
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
It does a lot of clicking (trying to start over and over again)
If thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
I use part no ERP410 POWER START RELAY, CAPACITOR AND OVERLOAD all in one. (110 v)

Airconditioner quit blowing cold..full of freeon but blows hot air

when you turn on the a/c does the compressor start turning?...find the compressor, and you will see its pulley turning all the time..but when it kicks in, you will see the inner part turn as well, you should hear it click when it goes on.
if it doesnt turn, could be low on refrigerant, or maybe your fuse is bown?

hope this helps

Profile Arctica, Air flow fan runs but compressor dont kick in to make anything cold!

1. is light on in side when you open the door. If not check breakers or fuses.
2. Can you hear the compressor running. If not do you hear any clicking sounds.
3. If you hear clicking sounds, try putting a fan on compressor and unplug refrigerator.
4. Wait one hour.
5. plug back in. If compressor starts let it run and see if it cools, if it doesnt, call service man.
6. If it goes back to clicking, call a service man.
try this.

I noticed a "clicking" sound every couple minutes when I awoke this morning. 4 hours later everything in the freezer is thawed and the refrigerator is up to 50 degrees. Any ideas on what to do?

It sounds like the clicking sound is the compressor trying to start. The clicking is the starter relay kicking in. The relay is under the plastic cap on the compressor under the fridge. The compressor is rounded on top flat on the bottom with the plastic cap on top of it and its black. If you take the cap off the starter relay is connected to one of the 3 prongs on the compressor replace it if this doesnt fix the problem your compressor is locked up and sorry but this means time for a new fridge. good luck I hate to give bad news..

Deep freeze compressor not kicking on.

Sounds like the relay contacts are staying open.

Compressor doesnt kick on .temp will not reset on control pad

Do you hear a "Click" trying to start the compressor?

If so, Sounds like the compressor relay is broken. It is a small back box (about 1 sqr inch size), that may need to be replaced.

You may need to provide more info about the failure.

Sometimes the compressor works fine then other times it just buzzes and doesnt kick in

You can start by trying to replace the relay on the compressor (#67005560), this is the part that is clicking and may just be going bad. If this doen't fix your problem then the compressor is going bad and is coming to close to not starting at all one of these times. Sorry if this doesn't help.

When plugged in, the compressor never kicks on. It just clicks.

If the compressor is getting hot then the compressor is gone. But the price on a relay is fairly cheap so you can at least try it and if it doesnt work then return it and dump the unit. But like I said before when a compressor gets hot it means that the piston is bad and the rings are burnt and the oil is bad in the compressor.
