For the Seagate hard disk model ST3120827AS, the TVS diode is typically located on the circuit board (PCB). TVS diodes are designed to protect electronic circuits from voltage spikes and transient events. They are usually small, with two leads, and look like small cylindrical or rectangular components.
To locate the TVS diode on the circuit board, you may need to refer to the hard drive's datasheet or schematic diagram, if available. Additionally, you can try searching for online resources or forums where individuals share information about hard drive components and their locations.
Regarding the Cisco Nexus Network Switch , it's important to note that specific details about the internal components, including the location of TVS diodes, may be proprietary and not readily available in publicly accessible documents. For detailed information about the switch's internal components, you may need to refer to Cisco's official documentation or contact Cisco's support

Hi I have a Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache. It runs fine for a bit then it just diconnect itself,so you have to scan for hardware or you have to reboot the system. Is there a fix for...

Test your HDD (Hard Disk Drive): go HERE, click Downloads and download Seagate Seatools for DOS (free). Burn the ISO to a CD, set your 1st boot device = CD drive and reboot with the disk in the drive. When the tester loads, choose the Quick Test in the upper left corner of the screen. It takes 5-10 minutes and will give you a pass or fail. If it tells your that SMART has tripped, or gives a fail notice, your drive is failing. You should have a warranty on that drive with Seagate.
If the drive passes as good, change your data cable. I have seen bad cables cause problems. Also check the power cable.
If you still have problems, enter Administrative Tools\Disk Management. Find your drive, Right click on it, and click "Mark Partition as Active".
If still no joy, try changing the SATA port on the mother board that your drive is plugged in to.
If still no joy, contact Seagate customer help, they are very good.

Hi guys, my seagate barracuda 7200.8 300 gb hard disk notworking. power is not coming to external harddisk, so i open the case connect it to lap by using some wires(dont know given by my friend), stil...

I have the same problem like yours right now. The on-board circuit of my Seagate Barracuda burned and I'm planning to buy new Seagate Barracuda with the same specifications, same model.. I will try to disassemble the circuit of the new one and connect it to the old hard drive to take a chance if it will work and retrieve my files. If it doesnt work, at least I try and I still have a new hard dist to store my new files.. If you want to do the same, you must be careful in handling the circuit board. It is very sensitive and can be damaged with just touching the components.. I recommend you to discharge static electricity of your hands by touching anything that is made of steel.. The steel will discharge static electricity, but still, to make sure you wont damage the circuit, just touch the circuit board on its sides.. Never touch any components, it will damage your circuit board.

I have the seagate barracuda 7200.7 200 gbytes whats the part on the outside that the master belt cable hooks in to a circuit board can i change that my kid took it apart not the insides of the harddrive...

You will need to get another circuit board from another Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200GB Hard drive. Either ask your local computer shop or check local ads for sale. Like Gumtree or Ebay or the like.
A hard drive recovery centre may have this particular circuit board as they will use it to transfer your information from your current hard drive to a new hard drive. This may be another option available to you.

Take care!

My seagate barracuda 7200.9 120GB hard disk hardware board emitted a smoke when i switched on my PC.I found out a small piece of part of the board (black color) showed signs of burnt.I could hardly read...

regan_santos it is against FixYa Terms Of Service to post an email address, or respond to one.
Just pointing that out.

From my own small piece of advice, I would replace the circuit board with one from another Seagate 7200.9 Barracuda Plus 120GB harddrive. Buy a good used one.

This way you can install the circuit board on the one you want to retrieve data from, then reinstall it back on the one you bought, after you have retrieved your data, and have a working Harddrive.

Buying just that circuit board? Mmmm, no.

Just from a quick search,

http://www.serversupply.com/products/part_search/pid_lookup.asp?pid=52592

http://www.allhdd.com/index.php?target=products&mode=search&subcats=Y&type=extended&avail=Y&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&cid=0&q=ST3120026A&src=ggl

Information on Harddrives,

http://computer.howstuffworks.com/hard-disk.htm

Do I know if the damage has gone further than just the circuit board? No, I do not.
Therefore it is a decision only you can make if it is worth the money spent.
There are also professional data recovery services. ($$$$$)

Seagate barracuda 722.10 light flashing but hard drive not runing, lots of data on it to retrieve, can i take it apart and run disk in cd/dvd drive or can i get new boards for it.and will it work if i change...

actually im fixing hardisk drive if you change the board it will work and spin. but the problem there is a serial protection of your disk and you cannot retrieve your files. now you have to troubleshoot the board. check fuse protect, rectifier diodes for 12v&5volts, and regulator.
