The blinking light could be a number of things. Is there a pattern to it? Does the computer make a beeping sound? It sounds like a definite hardware failure, and the pattern will tell you what it is. Without the pattern, I couldn't tell you the exact problem.

Rotate screen

Screen rotation is provided via software from the Graphics Card provider. You won't find rotation options in the normal display resolution/refresh rate settings screens. You will have to download the associated NVidia or ATI (or other) advanced features software from the web.

Monitor flashes on then off power light stays on whats wrong?? shows screen for about 3 seconds then goes black

Some 22" Viewsonics will have worn out bulging capacitors in the power supply that causes this symptom.

Power coms on sceen turns on can see desktop for 5 seconds then black screen power light is still on and green?

You may have failures in the power supply (bad caps with bulging top/seal), failed inverter circuits (shorted transistors, transformers), bad lamps (bad solder connection on the leads). You need to open it up and inspect the inside, post back what you find so we can guide you further. See example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Green light blinking , no display ,,

look inside for bad caps, see example of failed Viewsonic monitors here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

You should have 5v and 12v in the power supply sections.

No sound on viewsonic VG730m

you have to connect it via audio cable.
you need a cable with two 3,5mm stereo jacks. this you have to connect with the stereo output of your computer (mostly the green one) with the audio jack on your monitor. it's somewhere on the back i think. sound / volume control you do in windows - its the same as if you connect normal stereo speakers to your computer.
(perhaps you have to unmute or to raise the volume in the monitors os menu)

Viewsonic vp930b-3

MY VP930b has the same problem.
It takes a very long time (5-10 minutes) before it becomes normal.
