My dictaphone 1243 wont record sound

I'm sorry to hear that your Dictaphone 1243 is experiencing difficulties with recording sound. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check the microphone: Ensure that the microphone is not obstructed or damaged. Clean any debris or dust that may be affecting its functionality.
2. Volume settings: Verify that the volume is not set too low or muted. Adjust the volume settings accordingly.
3. Batteries: If your Dictaphone 1243 operates on batteries, make sure they are charged or replace them with fresh batteries. Insufficient power can affect the device's performance.
4. Recording mode: Confirm that you have selected the correct recording mode. Some devices have different recording options, such as voice activation or manual recording. Ensure you have chosen the appropriate mode for your needs.
5. Storage space: Check if there is sufficient storage space available on your device. If the memory is full, it may prevent further recordings. Delete unnecessary files or transfer them to another storage device to free up space.
6. Reset or firmware update: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may consider performing a reset on your Dictaphone 1243. Consult the device's manual or contact the manufacturer's support for instructions on how to reset the device. Additionally, you could check if there are any firmware updates available for your device and apply them if necessary.
If none of these steps help to resolve the problem, it might be best to reach out to the manufacturer's support team or consider taking the device to a professional technician for further assistance.

LFH9380/27 Philips memo dictaphone Won't turn on with new batteries

Hi,

Please ensure that the product has no limit on the brand of batteries that can be used in it. If you can, please stick to the same brand that was initially used by your dictaphone. If these brand of batteries do not work, I would call philips to ask about the nearest repair vendor to you. That vendor should be able to troubelshoot and fix your Philips device.

Thank you.

A loud beep on a 2710 dictaphone

There is a couple reasons way your unit can beep.
#1 not tape on the unit
#2 if you trying to record maybe the cassette tab on the cassette is broken to protect a recording
#3 it can be at the end of the tape
#4 try to play and make sure tape moves if tape don't move possible broken belt or bad motor
If none above you can send an email to [email protected] or call (805) 644-9525. Please indicate model and detailed description of problem.

Replaced batteries, now I am getting 3 sets of 2 loud beeps everytime I unlock the door with either code. Also the green light is continuously blinking.

The troubleshooting instructions (link here)

http://www.kwikset.com/Customer-Support/Product-FAQs/Faq/50160000000HifLAAS.aspx

will tell you that you will get a series of quick beeps when the batteries are installed correctly and making good contact.Conversely, the low battery indicator light on the power board will be lit when the batteries need replacement. Kwikset recommends that you use four quality alkaline AA batteries.
Also, Kwikset recommends that if your Powerbolt is beeping, that you take out the batteries and remove the powerstrip. Let it sit for one minute, then put the batteries back in and wait for another minute. If it does not beep, as in above for battery replacement, then the keypad needs to be replaced. If the unit beeps, then the powerboard needs to be replaced.
Is it at all possible that, when you replaced the batteries, you did not get the orientation correct for one or more of the batteries? Did you use new, brand-name alkaline batteries?
So, I've taken you through the steps that a Customer Service Rep is going to ask you before you make a call. If the problem still persists, then it's time to make that call. The number is 800 327-5625, Mon.-Sat. between 7:30-4:00. Pacific coast time. They should be able to assist you further with troubleshooting and parts.

Good luck-and please provide feedback if this helps!

Dictaphone use for Medical Transcription

You'll need a digital recorder (Dictaphone makes one - a Walkabout Model 5220). Transferring a recording from an analog (tape) machine to a PC requires a patch cord to hook it up to your PC, then some sort of software to record it while it's playing back.

20 year old Dictaphone Voice Processor Microcassette not working

Not sure if you're still having problems with this portable, but the first thing I would check is to make sure that you've put the batteries UNDER the battery clip in the battery compartment. Does the machine just make a 'beeping' noise when it tries to play, rew, or FF?

Lost manual for dictaphone 2750

For transcribing, you'll need the machine (2750), the power supply, a foot control, and a headset (unless you use the machine's built-in speaker).

For dictating, you'll need the machine (2750), the power supply, and the microphone.

Dictaphone Expresswriter 2740 Tape Won't Move

The problem is with the capstan motor. More than likely it has developed a 'flat spot' and won't spin up. The clicking noise you hear is the solenoids trying to pull the heads into place, but because the motor isn't turning, it can't pull the heads into place.

Dictaphone 2740

More than likely then the drive belt is broken or the motor is bad.
If you press the reset button the 88.8 flashing should go to 00.0.
If you are sure the tape is good, there is also a switch at the rear of the cassette compartment to detect if the record prevention tab is missing from the cassette itself. If the tab is in the cassette, the switch could be dirty or out of adjustment.
