HP Deskjet 4280 does not print. 'E' error on Control panel button

is it giving any error while giving print command? goto start settings printer & faxes open the printer icon by double click .any job is pending in the queue? try remove the usb cable and check t below the pinter icon whether it shows off line?

On your PC:

Start
Control Panel
Printers
Right click on this printer
Choose printing preferences
Open Services Tab

could be the same one I had with my printer. Try to turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, disconnect it from the computer, hold down the power button for about 5 to 10 seconds. Then remove the panel at the back and make sure no traces or pieces of paper stuck in any of the rollers. After that about a minute, place the panel back, reconnect the power cord and the USB cable, turn it on, then open the ink cartridge panel/window, then after the cartridges were aligned, close the panel again, then try to print. feel free to rate how it how it goes for you.

Hardware failure,Go for a new unit.

Rather than to analyze your problem and fixing, just uninstall all the softwares related to your printer from the control panel and reinstall them back using the driver cd came along with your printer and this should fix your problem. If still the problem persists, then try connecting and printing from any other PC/laptop to find out where exactly the problem is.

check that the printer is turn on, if on turn it off and on again, secondly check by double clicking the printer icon on your pc start bar i,t will open a pop/dialogue box, click on file and see if the offline is tick if so disable the tick.

1.click on the start button at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
2.From the start menu click on control panel.
3.check if the printer is switched on.If not switch it on & feed paper to the printer.
4.from the control panel window click on Printers & Faxes.
5.select hp deskjet f340 printer and right click on it.
6.From the new menu that appears click on properties.
7.From the new window that appears click on "Print Test Page" button.

in this case , what iLL do is to "REBOOT" , UNISTALL EVERYTHING that has to do with the HP printer , I mean everything ,after deleting all driver of printer , go to START , click SEARCH , and write " hp deskjet 3740" click search , if something shows , delete it , then install the drivers again ,

Click Settings under Performance
Click the Data Execution Prevention tab
Make sure Turn on DEP for all programs is NOT checked, check Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs.

try the following:

> start-->run, type services.msc
> double click on print spooler and click on stop and then click on start. press ok and close all the windows.
> unplug the usb cable from the printer
> now go to control panel and open printers and faxes.
> right click and delete all the printer icons related to hp deskjet f300 series.
> now plug the usb cable back to the printer
> wait for few minutes while it installs the driver automatically.
> thats it... now try printing
