Help............. have spent a while now trying to set up our TV to view TV chanels through it and ofcourse be able to record. Easier said than done! It's a Sony Bravia KDL 32V4000 TV and Panasonic DMR-EX75EB DVD recorder. I have linked the the two with an arial cable and HDMI cable. We don't have an external arial so the indoor arial is linked to the DVD recorder. The diagram in the manual for the recorder also has a SCART lead between the two but there are no SCART lead connections in the back of the TV so am wondering what else I need to do. The channels are showing that they are tuned in but there is no picture or sound. Any advice would be very gratefully received, am really stuck as to what else to do. Thanks

I had the same problem with the same configuration. In addition to the HDMI which is (DVD and Audio OUT only by the way) you need to connect the TV to the DVD through a high quality SCART cable as well. Remember to connect the SCART cable only while both the TV and DVD are switched off. To get the TV sound out of the DVD surround sound you need to click the FUNCTION key on the DZ230 remote a couple of times till you get the word TV on its screen, this is when you should hear the TV sound coming out of your surround sound as expected. Good luck.

thethe wires have to run out of your cable box into the dvd recorder then back out to the tv,try rehooking it up

Check DAV amp menu and select DTS surround or any other digital sound option.
