Do any of the computers connected (wired or wireless) to the router use any file-sharing software (LimeWire, Bit Torrent) ?
If so, stop using those programs, and then see if the problem does not happen.

If the problem still exists, it's time to replace the router.

Try the following.
Turn off your computers and all other peripherals.
Turn off the wifi router, and your modem.
then:
1. turn on your wifi router. let it boot completely
2. with your modem connected to your wifi, turn on the modem and let it boot
3. turn on all other peripherals..
let me know if you're up and running...
hope this solves it.

My PadPal keeps losing the internet connection. I can sit right beside the router/modem and it still loses it. I can't download any games or apps because it won't stay connected. I know everyone bl

You should reset the router. Just unplug the power for about one minute and then reinsert the plug. It will take again about one minute before the router comes back. but after that it should work again. Unplugging, will clear the memory from a lot of clutter, but the settings will be saved.
Eventually you can reset the tablet too. You have to make sure you did install the WiFi settings correct on your tablet.

Blinking lights

when the router looses connection, it is best to just leave it as it tries to reconnect automatically
the blinking lights is the communication process and when connection is made for each section the light stays full on
there should be a on/off button that you just press to restart the searching process or a reset button under a small hole that you use a paper clip to gently press to reset
remember that it is not always the router that looses the connection but the server that it is connecting to

Keep losing internet connection

Since i don't know how old the router is, i'm going to do some guesswork here.
If the router is older then 4 years, i would suggest buying a new one.
If it is younger, i would suggest the following:
Since i don't know the exact model for your router:
Connect to your router by a cable (Network cable) and make sure you can connect to the router.
Go to http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/linksys/ and enter your model number of your router.
Go to the downloads tab for your model and download the firmware.
Login to your router and find an option labeled Update Firmware.
Upload the new firmware and sit back for about 20 minutes.
When the firmware upgrade is complete disconnect the cable and try again via wireless

Recently the Router stoped connecting to the internet (wifi still fine). after resetting router and about 30 min of trying to connect to internet it eventually worked. I updated firmware and now only after...

There can be a few solutions to this.

First off, assuming you are using a standard cable/DSL home (dynamic) IP configuration for an internet connection, be sure to power off (unplug)your modem and router for at least 2 minutes, then plug them back in (if it is a cable modem, undo the cable connection as well), When you plug them back in, be sure to plug in the modem first, and wait until all lights stop blinking (maybe another 2 minutes) before you power on your router again.

Logon to the router status or basic setting page and make sure it is seeing DNS servers that are not part of your local network. And that it has an IP address.

Also, if your router is running a DHCP server, be sure the timeout is set for a nice long itme, say 7-8 days.

If it's still not working get back to me.

I've lost internet and was told that I need to refresh my router. How do I do that?

Sometimes your internet connection through your router fails for some reason or another, and you'll have to restart it. The simplest way to do that is just to unplug the router and plug it back in. If you still don't have a connection after that, unplug your modem, unplug the router, turn your computer off, turn your modem back on, turn the router back on and restart your computer. If it still doesn't work, call your ISP. If you want the video, go to http://www.videojug.com/expertanswer/computers-and-the-internet/how-do-i-refresh-my-internet-and-router-connection

USING LINKYS ROUTER/INTERNET NOT FOUND

Can you be a little more specific. What do you mean by "INTERNET PLUG IN"? Are you referring to the cable connecting your laptop to the router? The router to the modem? Or the modem to the internet (cable or DSL)?

What operating system?
