The Polygon Motor spins the mirror which writes the laser signal to the drum.
If switching the machine off/on doesn't cure the error code the only other thing you can do iw just check that all the connectors are plugged in correctly. Polygon Motors do fail and when they do all you can do is replace them. Quite often they will screech or rattle in the run up to failure.
