I have Itunes 11 running on WIN OS 8. it has always worked in the past but now my I tunes store function crashes.

possible conflict with win 98 as it is not supported
right click on the software and check compatibility with win 98 and check that the driver is still functional
well past time to move to win 8 or win 10

Although these should play, pages 49 & 50 of the manual give a lot more detail, including that an unfinalised disk will NOT play, and I would recommend that you go here:

download the manual and store it on disk for future reference.

You might try logging into the ITunes page...enter your user name and password, and then you can access your account. Your tunes should be there, if they are stored online. If they were stored on your old computer, you are probably out of luck.

Windows 8 RT correct? I just ran into this issue at work. When you try to run things as administrator when you right click the start button it just crashes explorer? If this is right, Please backup your information and Do a system reset Here is instructions on how to do this from microsoft:

I bought a used computer that stopped working all the time. I installed new OS, same problem. It was the CPU that was overheating. The thermal paste under the CPU was dried and crusty. New paste cured it.

On yours, check for dust build up and feel if any components are too hot. Also reinstall all drivers for your motherboard, get the newest ones from your mo-bo mfr. web site.

Try to reset the network settings.
Go to your iPod settings. Click on 'Reset Network Settings' .
Now, try to upgrade it.

Check and make sure you have a compatible version. 64bit Windows software will not install on 32bit windows os. All Vista products come in 32 bit and 64bit versions.

Upgrade to iTunes 8 - ver. 7 was extremely buggy for both Windows and Mac

Do a system restore to a date before you installed I tunes, then install Itunes again.
