Nvidia card
PCI-E (express)
For example:

Depends on what you want to do? do you play games? or just browse the internet? If you dont play any games or use any 3d programs, you will do fine with a cheap card nvidia 8400 for example

If you play games
8600GT or 9600GT OR NEWER.

Take one you can afford.

No vedio

If a wire touched the side of the video card and there was a spark then that wire shorted something out. The video card is likely bad now and it is also possible that there was damage to the motherboard. If the motherboard still work then a working PCI video card or AGP video card would work. If there is damage to the motherboard from the short then it is possible that the PCI slots as well as the AGP slot will not work but there is no way to tell if that is the case without testing the electronics on the motherboard or plugging in a working video card to see if it works.

No signal msg on the monitor

you have to check:
1) the monitor work ok itself with other PC. (or change a monitor test better
2) open your PC cover look power on work status, power supply work and all fans sunning, then go next
3) change the RAM first slot memory still no msg go next
4) find out any vedio card used (AGP) , and looking for any vedio build-in the motherboard, you may change the monitor sigbal vable
one to another VGA interface,

Vedio controller

Your AGP (Advanced Graphics Port) slot is a Video Card Slot on *********** Board... It is usually a brown slot this is above the PCI (white slots). You have to have a Video Adapter ( video card ) for your PC to display ANYTHING, so you either have a card or you have onboard video which shared some of your system RAM for Video. This card is where you plug in your monitor, so if your monitor plugs into a seperate card then you probably have an AGP card, if it plugs in near the mouse/kb/sound then it is most likely an onboard video adapter.

Soundcard/video card advise for emachines pc.

you can install a PCI vedio card to enhance video quality. a 128mb will do the thing. The integrated sound card you have is good enough, to maximise the sound install good quality speakers with subwooper or boosters
