Another method is to use the factory restore option on your dell computer if it is still available. To do a factory restore, restart the computer and as soon as the Dell logo/screen shows up, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and press the F11 key a few times and release both keys. once you get to the screen where you can choose to restore to factory settings select Restore then press Enter. Let it go through the process and select FINISH once you get the message that it is completed .

Boot into the BIOS (press F2) and look for a "Thermal Setting". Make sure it's not set to the highest setting. You can adjust it to your preference and make sure to save before you exit.

Right click on "My Computer" and then on "Manage". There you will find the "Disk Management" console where you can assign it a drive letter.

Hi Natalie, It sounds like the monitor has come to the end of its life cycle....You can verify that the monitor is bad by connecting it to another PC or Laptop using a VGA monitor cable, and seeing if it does the same thing.Gary

Hook it up to another monitor to see if the old one is working

CS = Cable Select.In a Master / Slave configuration you have to make sure the jumpers are set correctly on the hard drives.

1. Have you connected all the power cable?
2. Do you see any display?(including the power lights glowing)
3. Does the screen show you any blue screen error message?
