Hello. There's a User's Guide available for download in the Lexmark website. I believe that will give you a more detailed information on how to do scanning on your Lexmark X2670 printer. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/a4kvor. Then, click on Publications tab on the center of the page. Click on User's Guide to download the PDF file. Hope this helps.

Hello there,
The reason why your Lexmark printer keeps on telling you to install new cartridge because the printer have ink cartridge detection. Meaning it will detect whether that particular cartridge is an old one or not.
Each Ink Cartridges have its code and it will be registered to the printer once you have connected it. The printer will assume the ink level and once it is empty, that particular Lexmark Ink Cartridge will be registered to your printer as an empty ink cartridge and needed to be replace with a new one.
I would suggest getting a genuine new cartridge instead of refilling the ink cartridges.
