Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Dishwasher not draining completely problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. there is probably something stuck in the pump. Take the bottom kick plate off, and see if the pump is trying to work.

Very likely pump motor shaft seal leaks water into bearing casing buildup of rust and consequently noise. I just replaced $112 worth of pump assy and it's back to normal. I would also buy repair manual for $10 on-line to be sure how to disassemble the sump to get to the pump.

HI. this sounds like a busted impeller in the pump housing. there are two impellers. one for the wash and one for the drain. the drive shaft will strip the impeller center nut, causing this noise. I would inspect the pump housing for lose impeller action. replace the faulty impeller if found to be damaged.

Ya, almost certainly you need to replace the motor/pump assembly.
