The controls all seem to work, but the oven doesn't ignite. Range works fine, broiler works fine, only the oven refuses to light. The Pre heat light comes on, but that's all. I've tried to see if the oven would work on a preset cooking timer, but that also doesn't get a flame in the oven, even thought it runs through the cycle and turns itself "off". This happened once before, about 3 months ago, but after 2 days, it started working fine.
Sounds like the oven ignitor is weak. If everything else is working it must be a bad ignitor. These are usually easy to replace and can expect to pay $70-$100 for the part. Check to see if it glows when in bake mode first. If it does then replace the ignitor. You can look at the ignitor, when not on, if it is white-ish then it needs replace or if it doesn't have a full glow, can compare to broil ignitor, then it needs replaced. Let me know if you have further questions.
If you have a multimeter then you can check this. Put your meter on the two terminals underneath that go to the bake ignitor. Set meter to read voltage (120 volts). Put into bake and see if the meter shows voltage. If you have voltage there then the ignitor is bad. If you don't have a meter then you will just have to replace it or have a technician check it to be sure. Also, what does the ignitor look like in comparison to the broil ignitor? Let me know what you find.
Good job! Replace the ignitor and problem solved.

Bake igniter doesn't glow at all. Is there a test to see if the bake igniter is getting a signal to light, or do I just have to replace it to see if that is the cause of the oven not lighting.
Thanks for the help.
Well, finally tested for voltage, and when the oven is supposed to light, there is 120 volts going to the igniter. I also tested the leads to the igniter, assuming that there should be some continuity across the leads, but there wasn't. So I guess I should replace the igniter.
Thanks, I'll let you know how it turns out.
Replaced the igniter; the oven fired right up. I should hope this igniter will last longer than 2 years.
Thanks again
The display shows PrE what is this and the oven won't come on.
I am having the same problem with my oven. THANKS for the help
