If your hooking it directly to the tv depending on how old the tv is use one of the inputs. Hook the two red and white to red and white and the yellow to the video in input. If it's an older tv you will need whats called an rhf adapter. Hook your color codes together and use a cable cord to go from the antenna out to the tv's uhf input. I hope this information was helpful........... : )

SOURCE: DVD Player connection to the tv... Theres three

Red is usually the left channel audio, white the right channel audio, and yellow the video. Look for something to the effect of "audio out" and "video out" on your DVD player.

I am trying to hook the dvd player up to my old tv and am only getting sound, I am using the red, white and yellow cord.

I hope this will clarify things, you have 3 connections on each end.
DVD
  • Yellow Cable goes on Video Out (Yellow)
  • White Cable goes on Left Audio Out (White)
  • Red Cable goes on Right Audio Out (Red)

TV
  • Yellow Cable goes on Video IN (Yellow)
  • White Cable goes on Left Audio IN (White)
  • Red Cable goes on Right Audio IN (Red)

the coaxial audio connection does NOT need to be connected.
I hope this helps,

How do I connect my Magnavox DVD/VHS player to my Element Flat screen TV?

Do you have a newer TV or a older one lets start with a newer models does your tv have 3 or more jacks on the back or front you should see a RED, YELLOW and WHITE if you have a HDTV you should see more. (LETS HOOK UP) Did your DVD/VCR come with a cables if not you will need to buy at least 2 they are called RCA cables Lets start with the dvd/vcr combo on the back you should see a (LINE OUT) this is where playback or your picture and sound come out. On the back of the TV you should see a (LINE IN) this is where you plug it in to. RED goes to RED, WHITE goes to WHITE and YELLOW goes to YELLOW. To Record you will need to hook up the line in on your combo and the line out to your tv. ( IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER T.V WITH NONE OF THOSE JACKS ) you will need to buy a RF- MODULATOR the are cheap it is a box that let you hook a cable wire to a little box and the RCA jacks to you combo and you will turn your tv to channel 3 or 4

TV channels

If cable is hooked through cable box with a coaxial cable, then turn tv to ch 3 or ch 4 as appropriate.

If cable is hooked through any other type of cord (red/green/blue or red/white/yellow) use the AV+ or Source button to change your source to Av1, AV2, HDMI, or however you have the cable box hooked to TV (I am assuming your TV is a Philips).

I cant find a aux on my tv to hook up the dvd.

I am guessing that your game is hooked to the cable connector on the back of the tv and is switched. Do you know you can get a special adapter that uses the rca jacks (white, red, yellow) out of the dvd to the adapter and then out of the adapter with coax to the cable connector on the tv where the signal goes. I think you can get them at WalMart or Radio Shack. Upgraded tv's have the red white and yellow inputs for dvd. Hope this helps.
